Do you want to develop Kommuninvest's ability to use data and AI in a structured, secure, and value-creating way – thereby strengthening the company's business acumen and long-term development?

Kommuninvest is a member-owned credit market company that offers Swedish municipalities and regional groups competitive and sustainable loan financing for housing, infrastructure, schools, and hospitals, among other things. Together, we achieve better loan terms than individually. Since its inception in 1986, Kommuninvest has saved billions for its members in the form of lower interest rates. Currently, 296 municipalities and regions are members of this voluntary collaboration. With a balance sheet total of approximately 600 billion SEK, Kommuninvest is the largest lender in the municipal and regional sector.

The Role

In this role, you will have a key assignment: to develop both governance and practical capabilities around data and AI throughout Kommuninvest. You will create common structures, working methods, and guidelines – and help the organization use data and AI in a safe, uniform, and value-creating manner.

Since the role is under development, you will have significant room to shape content, working methods, and your own development. You can come in with either governance expertise, experience in practical data-driven work – or a combination. The most important thing is that you thrive in a role where structure, development, and operational support meet.

You will work closely with the business, IT, and management, reporting to the Head of Business Governance and Development. In this role, you will be part of the Business Governance and Development department, where you will join a team of specialists who together drive the company's structured approach to governance, development, and quality improvement. The group encompasses various competencies and perspectives, and through close collaboration – both within the team and with other parts of the organization – you will help create the conditions necessary for Kommuninvest to develop sustainably and long-term.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Data governance: Develop and maintain principles, responsibilities, and working methods for how the company works with data – ensuring that information is accessible, accurate, and usable.
  • AI governance: Develop and manage guidelines that ensure a safe, responsible, and value-creating use of AI in the organization.
  • Model governance: Ensure common requirements and working methods for the company's models throughout their lifecycle – focusing on traceability, control, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitoring framework: Develop structure, principles, and responsibilities for internal monitoring (goals, metrics, KPIs, definitions) to enable clear and systematic governance.
  • Data-driven working methods: Support the organization in using data and analysis in governance, monitoring, and decision-making, and contribute to raising the level of fact-based work.
  • AI benefits in the organization: Identify and develop areas of application for AI that create concrete business benefits.
  • Competence development: Strengthen the organization's understanding and maturity in data, AI, and governance – and contribute to changing working methods.
  • Development initiatives: Participate in relevant projects through requirement specification, quality assurance, and coordination within the role's areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with data, analysis, or information management.
  • Good ability to work with structured business monitoring and translate data into insights that support governance and decision-making.
  • Experience developing goals, metrics, and KPIs or other monitoring structures.
  • Knowledge of data quality and fundamental principles of data and information management.
  • Understanding of governance as a working method – for example, roles, responsibilities, and compliance within data, information, models, or AI.

It is an advantage if you also have:

  • Experience working at the intersection of business and IT.
  • Experience implementing or anchoring common working methods, guidelines, or routines.
  • Knowledge or experience in AI – for example, areas of application, risks, or governance.
  • Experience from regulated operations, preferably in finance.

Who are you:

To succeed in this role, we believe you are characterized by a structured and analytical working method and have an easy time creating order and clarity even in complex issues. You are pedagogical and communicative, with the ability to make difficult reasoning understandable and create consensus in the organization.

You work collaboratively and trust-building, building good relationships across departmental boundaries and thrive in a role where common working methods are driven forward. You are comfortable with change and have the endurance required to establish new structures and working methods sustainably.

We also see that you are pragmatic with good judgment and used to balancing demands, risks, and business benefits. You have a desire to develop, learn new things, and contribute to raising the organization's maturity in data, governance, and AI.
