Data Engineer at ATG

At ATG, we are investing in the Data & AI field and have recently established a new department to accelerate our focus. We are now looking for someone who wants to help shape how we develop and implement generative AI!

The role includes:

  • Being a key person in the migration from Oracle PLSQL to an AWS-based data platform.
  • Designing and building robust ETL/ELT flows and data models for financial reporting.
  • Working with modern tools and frameworks for data transformation, modeling, and orchestration.
  • Ensuring high data quality, data security, and performance in all stages of data processing.
  • Collaborating closely with others in the team, architects, product owners, as well as business and finance teams to create solutions that meet both technical and business requirements.
  • Actively contributing to technical choices and platform strategy.
  • Continuously developing your skills as technology and our data platform evolve.
  • Understanding and considering dependencies and integrations with other systems and data sources in architecture and development.

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who wants to help build a new cloud-based solution for financial reporting. Your primary task will be to design and develop data pipelines, data models, and aggregation layers in AWS, using modern tools and frameworks for data management, transformation, and reporting. You will be a key player in the migration from the current Oracle PLSQL-based solution to a future-proof platform, where data quality, traceability, performance, and efficiency are central. In this role, you will also closely collaborate with our business and finance teams to ensure that the solutions support business needs in the best possible way.

Is this you?

We are looking for someone with strong technical competence in data engineering who is technically driven, solution-oriented, curious, and responsible. You enjoy solving problems, dare to challenge existing solutions, and are driven by finding the best possible way forward – always with a focus on quality and sustainability. To succeed in this role, you also need to be comfortable working closely with the business and finance functions and be able to translate business needs into technical solutions. You have a good understanding of how systems and data flows are interconnected and can manage dependencies and integrations in a structured way.

We see that you have:

  • Several years of experience in ETL/ELT development and data processing.
  • Deep understanding of SQL and database development.
  • Experience working in an AWS environment with services for storage, processing, and orchestration of data (e.g., S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, or Snowflake).
  • Knowledge of modern frameworks and tools for data transformation and data modeling.
  • Previous experience migrating from on-prem to cloud, especially from Oracle PLSQL.
  • Experience building data models for reporting and analysis.
  • Good understanding of data quality, data governance, and security principles.

Meritorious:

  • Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, and financial systems.
  • Experience developing data pipelines with Python or other programming languages.
  • Experience with real-time integration using message queues (e.g., Solace, Kafka).
  • Experience with version control in Git and working according to agile principles.
