The Government Offices of Sweden is tasked with turning the government’s policies into reality. To work effectively and securely, a reliable digital infrastructure with systems, data, and processes that support the work of the Government Offices is needed.

As part of implementing the Government Offices' digitalization strategy, an overarching function for Enterprise Architecture is being established in the Digitalization Department. We are now looking for a Chief Enterprise Architect to lead and coordinate the EA function and serve as the functional leader for the architects.

As Chief Enterprise Architect, you will enter a crucial phase and be responsible for creating the overall Enterprise Architecture of the Government Offices and establishing and leading the overarching EA team. You will be in a situation where much is under construction and have a significant opportunity to influence the design of work methods, governance, and the role of the architecture function.

You will create direction, anchoring, and impact for architectural choices that support the digitalization strategy and ensure coherence, usability, security, and long-term sustainability while following up on value creation.

Your background

To be considered for the role, you need to meet all the mandatory requirements and preferably several of the desirable criteria.

Requirements:

• Academic degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Several years of documented experience in Enterprise/Business Architecture with proven value creation, such as risk reduction, cost savings, improved usability/delivery capability.
• Previous experience in creating a self-sustaining EA function that collaborates internally and does not “do everything themselves”.
• Experience in establishing architecture principles, target architectures, and governance (decision forums, compliance, deviation management).
• Deep knowledge of several architecture disciplines, such as business, information/data, application, technology/infrastructure, and security.
• Deep knowledge of public sector regulations such as GDPR, NIS2, security protection law, and the principle of public access.
• Good ability to model and visualize architecture for different target groups.
• Very good Swedish and English in speech and writing.

Desirable:

• CITA-P or equivalent leading EA certification and other relevant certifications such as IASA, CITA-A/CITA-P, TOGAF, or ArchiMate.
• Experience in functional leadership in complex environments; driven anchoring and governance without formal personnel responsibility.
• Previously led larger transformation programs with measurable value realization.
• Worked with architecture issues in state-owned companies or authorities.
• Experience using Enterprise Architecture as a basis for procurement, supplier management, and reducing supplier dependencies in complex organizations.
• Ability to act in several competency roles: Enterprise, Business, Information, Application, Infrastructure, and IT/Information Security Architecture.

Other

The role is a permanent position that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. The position is placed in a security class, and a security clearance with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. You must be a Swedish citizen but may have a foreign background.
