Responsibilities and Tasks

As a senior data scientist, you are expected to create societal benefits by leading and participating in the development of individual data analyses and their management together with driven and knowledgeable colleagues.

This work includes identifying data needs and, if necessary, assisting in the process of acquiring such data. A specific task for the senior data scientist is also to drive the development of machine learning and advanced data analysis. You are also expected to coach and otherwise support and inspire others in the development of methods, models, and digital innovation. Another task is to communicate the authority's work with complex data analyses, potentials, and effects of the work to a broad audience both internally and externally.

The role of senior data scientist is located in the data analysis department, which is tasked with developing and managing data analyses that identify incorrect payments from welfare authorities and other actors. To conduct data analyses, the authority has a comprehensive data warehouse that is gradually being expanded.

We are looking for someone who has

• An academic degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, and/or another area that we consider relevant to the role.
• At least 5 years of experience in data science development in Python/SQL environments, as well as version control and collaboration via Git/GitHub.
• At least 3 years of experience in development with ML frameworks (e.g., pySpark, PANDAS).
• Practical experience in applications where machine learning, various predictive models, network analyses, and/or generative AI have been used.
• Practical experience in conducting and presenting data analyses.
• Good ability to communicate in Swedish.

It is a merit if you also have

• Experience in coaching, inspiring, and mentoring colleagues.
• Experience with an agile working method.
• Good knowledge of data architecture and data platforms.
• Experience with the open-source ecosystem.

Abilities and Skills

To succeed in the role of senior data scientist at the Payment Authority, it is important that you are strategic, creative, and can work independently and persistently to achieve the organization's goals and results. It is also important that you have good collaboration and communication skills and are adept at building relationships.

Other

The place of employment is in Stockholm. The authority is located in modern premises near Gullmarsplan. Security clearance may be required. The position is a permanent full-time employment. A six-month probationary period may be applicable. You may be assigned to the authority in case of war.
