Svensk Export Credit strengthens its investment in Data Governance and is looking for someone who wants to translate governance into structure
SEK has laid a clear foundation for its work with Data Governance. Frameworks, information areas, and ownership are established, and the area is prioritized by both management and the board. We are now looking for someone with a technical background in data who wants to take the next step in their development and work closely with systems, information flows, and operations. In the role of Data Governance Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work both analytically and operationally with data quality, metadata, and information flows. You will combine structure and collaboration, detail focus and holistic perspective, and can clearly see the impact of your work.
We offer you
Our CIO organization consists of 120 employees. Here, decision-making paths are short, and each employee is a significant part of the whole. At SEK, you enter an organization that takes its data work seriously and sees data as a central asset in the business. We offer you:
- A role where you work hands-on with quality and structure, with support from experienced colleagues in architecture and data governance
- Close collaboration with the Data Governance Manager and Information Architect within the CIO organization
- An environment with short decision-making paths, high competence, and great engagement in the area
This is what you will do with us
As a Data Governance Specialist, you will work closely with both data and operations to make data governance work in practice. You will operate in a federated model where you support the data work of information areas and contribute to developing how the work is carried out going forward. You will move between structure, analysis, and dialogue, which means that you will, among other things:
- Profile and analyze data quality in designated systems and information flows, identify areas for improvement, and follow up on quality over time
- In close dialogue with operations, formulate and implement quality-enhancing measures
- Contribute to building and further developing SEK's metadata capability and future data catalog
- Support architects in mapping and documenting data flows to create transparency and increased understanding of how data is used and moves within the organization
An important part of the assignment is to contribute to increased understanding of the value of data governance in the organization. Through your way of working – structured, pedagogical, and operationally close – you help build both knowledge and maturity over time.
Your team and workplace
You will belong to the CIO organization with contact points that span the entire SEK in both leading, strategic, and operational roles. The role belongs to the IT Governance team together with our central architecture capability, providing a natural proximity to architectural issues and a good insight into how data, systems, and structure are interconnected in the organization. You will collaborate closely with the Data Governance Manager and Information Architect.
Our office is located at Fleminggatan 20 in Stockholm, and we work with a flexible working approach and remote work up to two days a week when it suits the tasks and the team's deliveries.
More about you
We are looking for someone who is at the beginning of their career in data and has worked for a year or two in an operational role, with an academic background in computer science or equivalent. You have worked practically with, for example, data quality rules, profiling, and metadata and have experience applying established guidelines in daily work. You have a technical understanding of how data moves between systems and want to further develop within data governance in an environment with clear structure and close support.
You have a good understanding of how information flows are interconnected and feel comfortable in the dialogue between technology and operations. You are comfortable with both Swedish and English as working languages.
To thrive in the role, we believe that the most important thing is that you have a genuine interest in data and information structure. You are analytical and structured and motivated by understanding how data is interconnected in systems and processes. You want to further develop within data governance and appreciate working in an environment where there is support, competence, and clear direction in the work.
