As a Work Environment Engineer at SEOM, you will play a central and important role in developing and leading the work for a safe workplace. SEOM provides the citizens of Sollentuna with heating, water, electricity, fiber, and waste management – services that are essential for society to function. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work both strategically and operationally to ensure a safe work environment in the delivery of these services, today and in the future.

The position is new within SEOM and entails overall responsibility for work environment efforts, from setting goals and strategies to being out at our construction sites conducting safety rounds. You will work closely with operations, management, and employees in various areas. As a Work Environment Engineer, you will drive and develop work environment efforts by inspiring and guiding with the aim of strengthening the safety culture and creating a sustainable work environment.

You will be a visible and proactive resource in daily operations while being responsible for driving work environment efforts from a strategic perspective. An important part of the role is to work with continuous improvements, implement initiatives, and create engagement around work environment issues throughout the organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring systematic work environment efforts and compliance with legal requirements.
• Conducting safety rounds and assisting with risk assessments and incident reporting.
• Supporting managers, projects, and operations in work environment issues, including BAS-P/U.
• Leading training sessions, meetings, and the Work Environment Committee, as well as collaborating with contractors and suppliers.
• Monitoring the external environment, implementing new legal requirements, and ensuring the right flow of information.
• Being the system responsible for ENIA, including training, follow-up, and analysis.
• Acting as a contact person for authorities.

This is a role for you who want to combine practical work in the organization with strategic responsibility and who enjoys creating structure, engagement, and improvements in a dynamic environment. As a Work Environment Engineer, you will report to the Business Area Manager for District Heating and be based at SEOM's office in Sollentuna.

To be successful in the role of Work Environment Engineer, we see that you have at least five years of experience working with work environment and safety issues, both strategically and operationally. You have good knowledge of relevant legal requirements and regulations, such as the Swedish Work Environment Authority's AFS regulations, as well as experience in dialog with authorities and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you have worked with improvement and change efforts, preferably with a focus on cultural and behavioral issues, and have the ability to analyze risks, conduct risk assessments, and translate them into practical measures.

Experience from the energy or water and sewage industry is considered an advantage. The role also requires good system skills and experience with digital reporting and monitoring systems for work environment, such as incident management. We want you to have an academic post-secondary education in a relevant field.

As a person, you are self-driven, initiative-taking, and motivated with the ability to work in a structured and solution-oriented manner. You are a team player with good communication skills who thrives in a flat organization with short decision-making paths. You find it easy to collaborate with different types of people and can convey complex issues in a simple and pedagogical way.
