The area of operation (VO) adult psychiatry Helsingborg consists of three outpatient clinics located in Helsingborg, Landskrona, and Ängelholm, as well as a unit that provides round-the-clock care and day care, located in Helsingborg. Department 57 is a round-the-clock care department with 12 beds for patients with psychotic disorders and first-time psychosis patients. Patients are cared for voluntarily but also according to the Mental Health Care Act (LPT). In the department, we are about 30 employees consisting of nursing assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, doctors, secretaries, unit managers, and service hosts.

The psychosis care in Helsingborg provides effective, safe, and qualitative psychosis care with a respectful approach to enable a good life. The mission within outpatient and round-the-clock care is to assess, investigate, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients. Common diagnoses we encounter include schizophrenia, delusional symptoms, schizoaffective syndromes, and all conditions where psychosis development is suspected. We base our work on a holistic view of mental illness, which combines medical, psychological, and social interventions.

Department 57 is located outside the hospital area at Pålsjö forest and is specifically designed for patients with psychotic disorders, featuring large open spaces, airy rooms, and an atrium courtyard. We have a very close collaboration with the Helsingborg psychosis clinic located next door. There we have the opportunity for day care, which includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, enabling activation, assessment, and rehabilitation of patients in an extensive manner.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a nurse who wants to work in complex and exciting care processes in a changing organization, where your competence gives you great opportunities to make a difference for the patient. In the department, we work in two teams where you collaborate with nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, social workers, and occupational therapists. As a nurse, you will plan the patient's care and treatment, participate in rounds, and be responsible for basic and medical care, risk assessment, and preventive measures.

Together, we ensure that you receive the knowledge you need to succeed in your role. Therefore, you will be offered an individual introduction tailored to your experiences, competencies, and wishes. In the department, we are generous with training and lectures, both internally and externally. For us, it is important that our employees continuously develop to provide even better care for our patients. Region Skåne invests in increased competence development for nurses. For newly graduated nurses, there is a clinical foundation year that includes lectures, clinical skills training, and access to a mentor. Psychiatry also has its own foundation year with lectures about various psychiatric disorders and symptoms.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse, both newly graduated and experienced, with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are a requirement. Additionally, it is advantageous if you are a trained psychiatric specialist nurse. To facilitate care and free up time for personal meetings, we use IT support as much as possible. Therefore, it is beneficial if you have experience working in various operational systems.

Through your engagement and positive attitude, you create a good working climate together with your colleagues, where we all help each other to achieve the best quality of care for our patients.
