Slättängsskolan is located just outside central Kristianstad. We are a K-9 school with approximately 500 students. We work to create a safe school with high goal fulfillment and good quality for our students.

Our goal is to create safe and knowledge-thirsty students who are well prepared for life. We do this by seeing and meeting each individual and by allowing everyone to develop and grow according to their own conditions. Of course, we work in teams with different professional groups and competencies.

The school's facilities are modern and well-equipped with digital learning tools for students and staff. We collaborate with Kristianstad University by having our teacher trainers in the field (LUF:are) receive teacher students.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your primary task is teaching in grades 7-9. In your role as a lead teacher, you will work for the entire school. You will focus on:

  • Planning and driving development work in consultation with the principal based on systematic quality work.
  • Identifying and formulating important didactic questions in the operation and actively driving these in consultation with the principal.
  • Working consultatively with colleagues.
  • Planning, leading, and developing collegial learning.
  • Staying updated on the latest research.
  • Mentoring other teachers.
  • You should be prepared to mentor individual staff primarily within your assignment but also on other issues.
  • You should be able to conduct teaching observations followed by reflective conversations.
  • Conduct example lessons where colleagues observe your teaching based on a formative approach.
  • You should be proactive in BUSK.
  • You are prepared to take significant responsibility for the assignment and detail it in dialogue with principals, team leaders, and other lead teachers at the school.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying have a teaching license with authorization to teach in grades 7-9 in Swedish and another subject in primary school.

We want you to document at least four years of well-regarded work in education. Based on your previous experiences, you can demonstrate a particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and mentor other teachers. You possess a good ability to provide developmental feedback to students, guardians, and colleagues based on scientific principles and proven experience.

Solid knowledge in the subject area you teach is a prerequisite for the job. As a lead teacher, you are required to have very good pedagogical competence and a strong interest in developing teaching. You can adapt your work to different groups' and individuals' conditions. Thinking outside the box is necessary in your role, as is your desire to develop yourself and the learning environment. Naturally, you are interested in participating in development projects that lead to improved student results.

Furthermore, you have good knowledge of how to conduct teaching observations, work with reflection and feedback, lead group discussions, and have conversations with individual colleagues. You also have knowledge of how to develop value-based work. As a person, you are empathetic, self-driven, structured, and clear.

When we want to offer you the position, you will need to present a criminal record extract from the police for us to employ you, according to the provisions in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.
