About the Position

Lund University is seeking 1-2 teaching assistants for placement at Lund University Faculty of Engineering, Department of Building and Environmental Technology, Division of Building Materials.

Workplace Description

The position is located at Lund University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Building and Environmental Technology, Division of Building Materials. The division conducts teaching and research on building materials. About fourteen people work in the division, divided into categories of teachers, researchers, doctoral students, technical and administrative staff. Teaching assistants perform tasks within undergraduate education, research, and administration. The workplace is located in the V-building on the LTH campus in Lund.

Job Responsibilities

As a teaching assistant, your tasks may vary, and they should provide insight into the academic world at the faculty where you are studying. The responsibilities for this position include:

• Laboratory supervisor and exercise leader for the course VBMF05

Qualifications

Eligible for employment as a teaching assistant is someone who is admitted to education at the undergraduate or graduate level at the faculty (or a related subject for the joint institutions). The degree must not have been obtained.

Requirements for the position are:

• Ongoing full-time studies in V-education or equivalent education deemed relevant by the employer
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
• Passed the courses VBMF05 and also VBMA30 or equivalent courses in education deemed relevant by the employer

Desirable qualifications for the position are:

• Knowledge in the field of building materials in the form of high course grades.
• Study orientation towards building technology, construction, and civil engineering or through the choice of relevant elective or optional courses within the field of building materials
• Previous teaching experience at the university level
• Ability to express oneself clearly
• Good ability to collaborate
• Independence and initiative

Other Information

The position covers 1-2 temporary positions during the period from 2025-03-24 to 2025-06-01 and involves a workload between 4-22% of full-time. The employment must not negatively affect the teaching assistant's studies and must not be combined with other employment. Regulations regarding educational employment as a teaching assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12. You will work according to a schedule established in agreement with you. The position is covered by the Working Hours Agreement for teachers.
