JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Located centrally in Gothenburg, you will find Venus BmSS. The residence is conveniently located near public transport and is easy to reach. Venus is a service apartment where eight tenants belong to the target groups of autism, acquired brain injury, neuropsychiatry, and comorbidity. The tenants live in their own apartments in a residential building that also has a staff apartment with shared communal areas. We are now looking for a support pedagogue who wants to create conditions for our tenants to develop towards as independent a life as possible together with us.

We work on the premise that our tenants should be involved and have the opportunity to influence how their day looks and what they need support with. The residents should be given the opportunity to maintain as independent a life as possible. Tasks that are commonly performed in a home, such as cooking, laundry, and cleaning, are carried out as much as possible together with the tenants. Social activities or health-promoting activities, such as assistance with daily habilitation, can also become part of your work. With us, you will have a mobile job as you accompany our users on leisure activities and walks. We offer you a varied and stimulating position with a lot of personal responsibility.

You will have a central role in the quality development and systematic improvement work of the operations, including supporting support assistants in the establishment of implementation plans and social documentation. You will establish working methods and approaches and ensure that these are used and developed effectively while maintaining contact with outpatient care, psychiatric departments, and other authorities. You will work on a schedule where working hours may vary between day, evening, weekend, and sleeping on-call. BmSS Venus is part of a planning group with nearby units aimed at increasing continuity and security for our tenants while using our resources effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a support pedagogue education, post-secondary education with specialization in the disability field such as support pedagogue, activation pedagogue, social pedagogue, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. The education should comprise at least 200 YH points or at least 60 higher education credits or a combination thereof corresponding to at least two semesters of full-time studies. It is important that you have good computer skills and are comfortable working with various IT supports and have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

You have previously worked with individuals with intellectual and psychiatric disabilities. It is important that you are accommodating and have a positive attitude in your professional role. If you work in a structured manner, have good collaboration skills, and can take your own initiatives within the framework of the assignment, this is highly valued. To communicate with tenants, colleagues, and to carry out documentation, you need to master the Swedish language in speech and writing.

If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the testing user Educateit.
