About the workplace

The Women’s and Girls’ Shelter Ada has provided support and protection to women and children affected by violence for 45 years. We are a non-profit organization, religiously and politically independent, working with support and protection for women and children affected by violence from a feminist perspective. We run a sheltered accommodation with eight places for adult women and their children, a counseling reception, and also engage in advocacy work.

We have a collective agreement.

Job Responsibilities

Together with a coordinating colleague, you will be responsible for all support to children and young people in the organization. This includes being the contact person for the children living in our sheltered accommodation and being responsible for individual interventions, which involves planning, implementing, and following up on the intervention. You should have a holistic view based on the children's needs and be responsible for promoting the child perspective throughout the organization.

The child coordinator conducts threat and risk assessments and is responsible for age-appropriate support conversations and activities with the children living in the accommodation. The position also includes parental support, childcare, accompanying tasks, and practical duties. A significant part of the work involves collaborating with other organizations and authorities, such as preschool and school administrations. Good communication and collaboration with your colleagues are important aspects of the job.

In addition to working with children, the position includes conducting support conversations with adult women in our counseling reception. You will also have association-related tasks and work with advocacy.

The working hours are primarily during the day on weekdays, but evening work may also occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has completed a higher education in social work or equivalent qualifications as assessed by the employer.

Experience in working with children and young people or education related to children and young people is required. There is also a requirement for documented knowledge of men's violence against women and children, crisis and trauma, as well as experience in meeting people in crisis.

It is an advantage if you have any of the following qualifications: SARA, Patriark, Trappan, TMO, Tejping, ABC, or other equivalent training.

You are confident in yourself and can remain calm in various situations that may arise. You have an empathetic and professional approach. We place great importance on personal suitability.

You have good computer skills and are preferably practically oriented. You can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

We are a small workgroup, so it is important that you can both collaborate in a group and work and make decisions independently. You will have access to regular group supervision.

The position is full-time and begins with a six-month probationary period.
