School Social Worker at Withalaskolan

We are now looking for an engaged school social worker who can contribute to students' well-being and personal development at Withalaskolan. As a social worker, your work is crucial in promoting students' health, development, and learning. Through preventive and supportive measures, you help develop positive learning environments and effective educational strategies.

Withalaskolan is located in the heart of Vetlanda. Approximately 700 students from grades 7 to 9 attend the school. It is situated in the central area, just a stone's throw from the center and Stortorget. We have about 80 staff members working to develop students' knowledge and values. Our vision is for all students to have the opportunity to become their best selves.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social worker at Withalaskolan, you will be part of our student health team and work alongside a fellow social worker. The school also has two social pedagogues who work on preventive and promoting efforts to ensure that students are in school, meet knowledge requirements, and feel good. You will also have the opportunity for supervision with other colleagues.

Your task is to, from a relational perspective, see each student, strengthen their belief in their own abilities, and stimulate lifelong learning. Equity is central; all students should have the same opportunity to succeed in school.

Your responsibilities include:

• performing individually focused tasks, including investigations and conversations with students and guardians
• actively participating in the school's work with values, safety, attendance, and equal treatment
• serving as a link to additional community support when needed, such as collaboration with social services and psychiatry
• collaborating in the design and implementation of various plans and policy documents, such as crisis plans and programs against discrimination

• You are a trained social worker or have other education that we assess as equivalent.
• Experience in the profession is an advantage.
