Your Workplace

The psychiatric outpatient care currently consists of six general psychiatric clinics, five subspecialties, and a ST unit. The Laromottagningen is one of the subspecialties. Starting in January 2025, psychiatry within Region Värmland will undergo a change where all adult psychiatry, psychiatric outpatient care, and psychiatric inpatient care will be merged into one area.

LARO stands for medication-assisted rehabilitation for opioid dependence. It is a regulated treatment form for individuals who have had a long-term and severe dependence on heroin or other opioids. The treatment consists of long-term, sometimes lifelong, substitution therapy with replacement medications combined with psychosocial treatment work. In addition to opioid dependence, many of Laromottagningen's patients also have other psychiatric issues, known as comorbidity. This may involve, for example, neuropsychiatric conditions, personality disorders, affective disorders, PTSD, as well as mild or severe anxiety disorders.

We at the clinic are a positive and competent team consisting of various professionals who work cross-professionally and support each other. The emphasis is, of course, on providing professional treatment and care to our patients, but job satisfaction and a pleasant work environment for employees are also high on the agenda. Therefore, in light of the new expanded mission, we are looking for a psychologist who wants to join our team and help develop care and treatment for our patient group together with us.

Your Responsibilities

In your work at Laromottagningen, you will be part of a team consisting of specialist doctors, social workers, nurses, care and support coordinators, occupational therapists, medical administrators, and unit managers. You will have good opportunities for broad collegial collaboration with staff from the entire clinic, and collaboration also occurs with other operations both within and outside Region Värmland. We are now facing an expanded mission where, in addition to substitution treatment, we will also offer general psychiatric treatment for our patients.

Your responsibilities include both psychological treatment and various types of assessments, as well as assisting the team with your psychological expertise.

As a psychologist, you will play an extremely important role with us, both in daily work and as an actor and resource for consultation and supervision. Since this is a newly established position at Laromottagningen, you will have a role in developing routines and working methods in accordance with the guidelines and recommendations for individuals with opioid dependence and comorbidity. You will also be part of the referral group at the clinic.

In your psychologist position, you will work with:

• Neuropsychiatric assessments
• Diagnostic evaluations
• Psychological treatment
• Psychoeducational interventions, individually and in groups
• Participate in treatment planning.

Your Knowledge and Competencies

We are looking for a licensed psychologist. You have experience and/or interest in Laromottagningen's patient group. Experience in assessment work is an advantage. It is certainly a benefit, but not a requirement, if you also have experience in addiction care.

We welcome applicants from various theoretical orientations but assume that you have a genuine interest in people and a good ability to meet each person based on their individual circumstances. As a psychologist in the team, you need to be able to work independently and have the ability to collaborate with your colleagues in a constructive manner. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
