Your workplace

Hjälpmedelsservice is a specialist unit that works with aids for people with disabilities, primarily in the areas of mobility, cognition, and communication. It is a workplace where we have fun and enjoy working together while striving to help people achieve a better everyday life.

We have about 30 employees with an even gender distribution between men and women. We have a diverse age range and work with everything from warehousing, repairs, inspections, and adaptations of aids to counseling, prescribing, procurement, and organizing training as well as networking and much more.

Your tasks

We are now looking for an assistive technology consultant where approximately 50% of the position will focus on cognition, and the remaining part will involve other areas of assistive technology. Which areas will be included in the position have not yet been determined, and you will be able to influence these areas to some extent based on your experience and interests as well as the needs of the organization.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Being an expert in specific areas of assistive technology
  • Informing, educating, and advising prescribers both via phone and in cognition, as well as during trials and sometimes follow-ups
  • Being responsible for and conducting prescriber training
  • Organizing training and product demonstrations for professional development for prescribers
  • Participating in assortment selection and procurements
  • Working with purchases and purchase order confirmations in cognition
  • Keeping up with developments in your area

In addition to the above tasks, you will participate in collaboration and networking with our customers consisting of representatives from municipalities and regional operations within the county, as well as with assistive technology suppliers. The position of assistive technology consultant also includes administrative tasks such as article management in our operational system Sesam2, handling complaints, and working towards an informative website.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for someone who is a licensed occupational therapist. We see that you have experience and interest in the area of assistive technology, particularly cognition and technical products, as this is a significant part of the role.

You are attracted to stepping back from direct patient contact and now wish to take a more consultative role, primarily working with prescribers in Värmland. Since the majority of your tasks are administrative, knowledge and experience with the Office suite is advantageous, and you should have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing.

You work from a structured approach, want to provide high service, have a good ability to make independent decisions, and work independently but see collaboration as essential for achieving the best results. Your immediate team will include consultants, technicians, and administrative and logistics personnel.

A driver's license is required as the job involves some travel. Personal suitability is of great importance.
