About the Position

Roslagen's Culture School is seeking a dance educator for a temporary position, who will actively contribute to the development of both the culture school and the cultural life in Norrtälje Municipality. The role includes broadening dance education both stylistically and by reaching new target groups. We are looking for an experienced and professional dance educator with a broad competence in dance, who has the ability to teach in several different dance styles.

Roslagen's Culture School offers voluntary music education in traditional music teaching in instruments and ensembles, rock/pop group teaching, folk music, music production, dance, theater, and art. The culture school's activities cover the entire municipality from Norrtälje, Hallstavik, Älmsta, and Bergshamra.

Job Description

The target group for the teaching is children from the age of 5 up to adults. Teaching takes place in groups. The dance activities are part of the performing arts school, which includes our subjects of art and theater. Some teaching will take place together with our theater educator in musical theater.

Qualifications

We see that you have the following background:

• Professional level in your art form
• Good knowledge of dance
• Experience in teaching and leading group instruction
• Experience in leading and taking responsibility for projects
• Class B driver's license and good driving experience

Meritorious:

• University education with a pedagogical focus
• Experience working with younger children

To thrive in the role, you should enjoy teaching students of different ages, where joy and curiosity-driven pedagogy are prominent. You should be able to meet each individual's needs and interests while leading and developing the entire group.

You have a high social competence and are outgoing, which makes you thrive in collaboration with others. You have the ability to plan your work carefully and work purposefully to complete tasks. In your interactions with others, you are friendly, but also confident in expressing your competence and providing advisory input when needed.

About the Workplace

The culture school consists of 25 employees, most of whom work part-time. Our employees particularly appreciate the solid ensemble activities, such as wind orchestras, string orchestras, various session groups, and the numerous professional development projects for staff.

Employment Type

The position is a part-time temporary position, 70%. Immediate start.
