Certified Teacher in Swedish as a Second Language for Grades 6-9 with Qualifications in Swedish and English

Soldalaskolan is a school where students encounter an enjoyable learning environment where everyone feels involved, trusted, and respected. The school is a two-parallel school with approximately 550 students from grade F-9. We have an open school environment with new functional and well-equipped facilities.

At Soldalaskolan, primarily certified teachers with qualifications in their teaching subjects work. Special teachers, school nurses, study and career counselors, and two social workers also work here.

Soldalaskolan is a CPU school that continuously receives teacher students, primarily from Södertörn University but also from other institutions, who complete their teaching practice with us. As a certified teacher, we expect you to receive and mentor teaching practice students, and you will be offered a mentoring training of 7.5 credits as well as continuous professional development in your mentorship. The collaboration with Södertörn University through mentorship and contact with students is developing and educational and contributes to the development of teaching.

In recent years, Soldalaskolan has welcomed a large number of newly arrived students, resulting in the development of teaching to meet the needs of multilingual students. We use the tool Bygga svenska to follow up on our multilingual students' language development.

Your Responsibilities

You will meet a skilled, professional, and positive staff that collaborates well around our students. Our students at Soldalaskolan have the opportunity to work with various ways to express themselves, creating more opportunities to learn, and they experience varied teaching and activities.

You will teach students in grades 6-9 in Swedish as a second language with a focus on newly arrived students and enhanced mentorship. The assignment also includes teaching in Swedish and English.

You will collaborate closely with various professionals at the school. This means close cooperation with both your colleagues in the teams and with the student health team's areas of expertise to meet students' needs for extra support in both your subject and for the student's relational and social development. You will be part of a team that together drives the development of teaching at the school.

Requirements:

- Teacher training and certification are required for a permanent position.
- You are certified in the subjects of Swedish as a second language, Swedish, and English for students in grades 6-9.
- You have experience working with newly arrived students and using the tool Bygga svenska.
- You have excellent knowledge of LGR-22 and are well-versed in the revised curricula.
- You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

- You have good collaboration skills, easily create good relationships, and collaborate with students, guardians, the team, the school's student health team, and school management.
