PhD Position in Sports Science Focused on Prostate Cancer

GIH hereby announces a PhD position in the field of sports science within sports medicine, with a particular focus on prostate cancer.

Project Description:

The project is a collaboration between the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences and other universities and hospitals, aiming to evaluate a new training concept for men with prostate cancer (PC) undergoing hormone therapy (ADT). The training combines high-intensity strength and conditioning exercises and is conducted on equipment that is mobile and easy to set up in smaller spaces. The training takes only about 40 minutes to complete and has been evaluated on healthy men with very good results. If the concept proves to be equally effective for men receiving ADT, the goal is to establish and evaluate it in hospitals across Sweden, thereby helping a large number of men with PC. The project also aims to evaluate the physiological, psychological, and health effects of the training concept, as well as to study the underlying mechanisms.
