Herrängens School is a municipal primary school from preschool class up to grade 6 located in Älvsjö.

The school's vision is "All children are the responsibility of all adults". The school has 3 parallel classes and has 566 students and 73 staff members. The school has high goal fulfillment, qualified teachers, high staff density, and stable finances. Teachers and educators have high expectations of the students, and guardians have high expectations of the school.

Your role

As a teacher in a special education group, you work to provide students with the learning and care they need to develop based on their own conditions. You are responsible for creating a developing, meaningful, and positively accessible learning environment for students where they reach their full potential. Together with the other staff at the school, you are involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the activities based on national goals and guidelines. You have the ability to design teaching in accordance with curricula, subject plans, and current knowledge requirements. You take responsibility for and have insight into students' results and needs and structure and adapt your teaching to create a safe and adequate learning environment. You involve the student in the planning and develop the student's ability to learn, both independently and together with others.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for a primary school teacher for the special education activities with a teaching license for grades 4-6. Preferably with qualifications in various subjects, but qualifications in mathematics and science are desired first and foremost. This academic year 24/25, there is a special education group with about 4-8 students. A total of 4 staff members work in the group, one teacher, one special teacher, and two childcare workers. Other teaching teachers with different subject competencies complement the teaching in the group. You should preferably have documented several years of experience working in a special education group in primary school and good competence in NPF. It is advantageous if you have training in special education.

You can create situations where students succeed, and your view of children is characterized by respect and the belief that all students can and want to develop. You should be able to build relationships and, in your daily work, have the ability to spark students' interest and encourage them to learn. In your work, you use a low-arousal approach, are professional, and can adapt your communication based on the situation. You are empathetic, mature, have good judgment, and can set boundaries. In your role, you are secure and recognize the importance of being an adult role model. You can work independently and take initiative. In your interactions with students and guardians, you are clear and responsive to students' needs. You have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and should have good digital competence.
