Music Teacher for Grades 3-9

Soldalaskolan is a school where students encounter a joyful learning environment where everyone feels involved, trusted, and respected. The school is a two-parallel school with approximately 550 students from grade F–9. We have an open school environment with new functional and well-equipped facilities.

At Soldalaskolan, primarily certified teachers with qualifications in their subject(s) work. Special education teachers, school nurses, career counselors, and two social workers also work here.

Soldalaskolan is a CPU school that continuously welcomes teacher students, primarily from Södertörn University but also from other institutions, who do their VFU (practical training) with us. As a certified teacher, we expect you to receive and mentor VFU students, and you will be offered a mentor training of 7.5 credits as well as ongoing professional development in your mentorship. The collaboration with Södertörn University through mentorship and contact with students is both developing and educational and contributes to the development of teaching.

Your Responsibilities

You will meet a skilled, professional, and positive team that collaborates well around our students. Our students at Soldalaskolan have the opportunity to work with multiple ways of expressing themselves, creating more opportunities to learn, and they encounter varied teaching and activities.

You will teach music to our students in grades 3–9. Music education in the lower grades is driven by El Sistema, and it is required that you have a close collaboration with them. Your teaching will primarily take place in half classes. In your role as a music teacher at Soldalaskolan, you will also be responsible for gatherings related to various traditions.

You will collaborate closely with different professionals at the school. This means a close collaboration with both your colleagues in the teams and with the student health team's areas of expertise to meet students' needs for extra support in both your subject and for the student's relational and social development. You will be part of a team where you collectively drive the development of teaching at the school.

Requirements:
- Teacher education and certification are required for a permanent position.
- You have documented experience teaching music in primary school.
- You have very good knowledge of LGR-22 and are well-versed in the revised curricula.
- You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

- You are professional in your role, take responsibility, are engaged, motivated, and driven, and you contribute to continuous improvements.
- You have good collaboration skills, find it easy to create good relationships, and collaborate with students, guardians, teams, the school's student health team, and school management.
- In your pedagogical leadership, you are a clear leader, and in the classroom, you have the ability to create an accessible learning environment characterized by safety, study peace, trust, and respect.
- You are passionate about your subject and have a strong commitment to creating memorable gatherings and traditions for our students.
