About the workplace

Annelund is a preschool with six departments, where two of the departments are for older children and the other four for younger ones. The preschool works towards close collaboration between children and educators across department boundaries. In the vicinity of the preschool, there are several green areas and parks. The preschool also has access to cargo bikes which we use to explore the city. We aim to broaden the children's perspectives, create shared memories, and marvel at places that arouse our curiosity.

Annelund's preschool is now looking for two preschool teachers, one position is permanent and the other is a temporary substitute.

The entire preschool area is part of a joint project called 'We are Malmö.' The project aims for the children at the preschool to feel a sense of belonging to Malmö and to democratize the preschool's activities. The preschool area strives to build a united area with a common set of values and a pedagogical identity at each preschool.

The preschool area is constantly engaged in pedagogical development work and is evolving all the time. We highly value relational pedagogy. The management team works on long-term and sustainable strategies for competence development. In the autumn of 2024, we initiated an educational effort for the management team and all our employees in the area in the ICDP program, focusing on relationships and human resources.

At Annelund's preschool, we work with a language development approach that permeates the children's education, both through a responsive approach and through targeted linguistic activities. Since 2023, our preschool area has been working with the book 'The Preschool of Diversity - Multilingualism, Care, and Teaching.' In working with the book, we have developed our knowledge about the identity formation, learning, and development of multilingual children.

Time for operational development is important to develop the preschool. Conscious collaboration in the preschool area offers opportunities for collegial learning and developmental knowledge exchanges. This occurs through joint operational development days and various collegial meetings where all professional groups are represented, as well as through scheduled development time in the work team and individually.

Job Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher at Annelund's preschool, you work to create a safe, fun, and educational preschool. You lead and develop the educational activities together with the rest of the team. You have a special responsibility for teaching, and work with the curriculum as a base based on each child's knowledge, experiences, and specific conditions. All preschool teachers in Malmö city have scheduled time (5 hours/week) for reflection, documentation, and learning with colleagues.

We work with systematic quality work as a tool to document and drive the educational activities forward. We use educational documentation to reflect on and analyze the project work.

We enable development, collegial learning, and knowledge exchanges in various collegial meetings where you have the opportunity to be inspired, develop, and share experiences. We have scheduled development time in the work team, individually, and in development groups.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a preschool teacher degree. We would like you to contribute with commitment, creativity, and a drive to develop the activities. You meet each child with respect and attentiveness. Of course, you have a professional approach and work to build good relationships with parents and colleagues. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

To be permanently employed as a preschool teacher, a preschool teacher's license is required, according to the Education Act. If you have a preschool teacher degree but lack a license, you will be employed on a temporary basis.

We consider relational competence and good collaboration with the children's families important.
