Data Protection Officer for Gothenburg City

Intraservice delivers services and digital infrastructure that help employees and managers in Gothenburg City to work smart and efficiently. Job Description

We are Gothenburg! Now we need and are looking for you who want to work as a Data Protection Officer for Gothenburg City's administrations and companies. The work includes supportive as well as auditing tasks based on GDPR.

The Data Protection Unit is a central function within Gothenburg City that assists all of the city's administrations and companies with advice, information, support, and compliance control in data protection and data protection legislation. The unit consists of seven specialists, with different backgrounds and competencies, who work together to provide the role of Data Protection Officer to the city.

We are looking for someone interested in data protection and issues related to privacy, IT, and digitalization. The work involves extensive contacts with the city's various operations, as well as many legal, technical, and practical issues to handle in an increasingly digitized world.

The position primarily focuses internally, and you will be responsible for supporting other colleagues within the unit in their work as Data Protection Officers for the City's operations.

Within the role, you will, among other things:

  • work with advisory services in data protection legislation and data protection
  • monitor the environment and keep the operations informed
  • organize and conduct information campaigns or similar knowledge-enhancing measures
  • assist in personal data incidents and impact assessments

You will be employed as a Business Controller. The position is a parental leave substitute that runs until August 2025.

Qualifications

You have a university education that we consider relevant to the position, for example in public administration, law, or IT. In addition, you have basic knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation. It is a merit if you have experience working with data protection issues. We also see it as a merit with work experience from practical legal work or experience from work in the public sector, for example in a municipality, at a state authority, or through legal service at a court.

To succeed in the role, you need to be a team player but also someone who can handle great responsibility independently. You are good at communicating both orally and in writing and feel comfortable in the role of a presenter. You have a well-developed sense of service and very good social skills while being able to maintain a high level of integrity. You work systematically and can prioritize to carry out the assignment efficiently.
