We are part of Humaniora Care and Support, the municipal provider of care and support in Solna City. The Care Administration in Solna City is currently undergoing a transformation aimed at creating better organizational conditions.
The main mission of the preventive services is to counteract social isolation and involuntary loneliness, as well as to create conditions for increased physical and mental well-being. Through a wide range of social and physical activities at the city's meeting points, in close collaboration with volunteers, non-profit organizations, and other administrations, we work to promote an inclusive and safe community. What Does the Job Entail?
The Vision and Hearing Instructor's mission is to support individuals with impaired vision and hearing to facilitate their daily lives and reduce dependence on others' assistance. Another important function of the Vision and Hearing Instructor is to act as a knowledge disseminator, providing information and good advice on vision and hearing issues to staff in, for example, home care, special housing, and to enhance quality in other municipal services.
Your Main Responsibilities Include:
- Home visits and telephone advice.
- Assessing individuals' needs for support and aids.
- Care advice and training for vision and hearing aids.
- Vision and hearing adaptations on phones, computers, and tablets.
- Some installation of technical aids.
- Training and guidance for staff.
- Conducting lectures, workshops, open houses, and drop-ins.
- Administrative tasks.
- Creating networking meetings for vision and hearing representatives within the services.
- Supporting the implementation of new routines and methods for structured work with vision and hearing, as well as ensuring follow-up of these.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone who has:
- Education in vision and hearing care, rehabilitation, or other education deemed suitable by the employer, e.g., occupational therapist, optician, audiologist, or vision pedagogue.
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Good computer skills.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working with the elderly.
- Experience in training and guiding staff.
- Knowledge of digital aids.
As a person, you have good pedagogical and communicative skills, patience, and a positive demeanor. You enjoy working both independently and in a team, and you adapt your approach to the situation. You also have a good ability to plan and structure your work.
More Information About the Application
The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a 6-month probationary period. Start date is by agreement. We warmly welcome your application by April 16.
