Right now, one of the most ambitious transformation efforts in our municipality's history is underway. We are building a new city, about 20 minutes from Söder. Join us on our journey.

Description

We are looking for a Swedish and English teacher to start in August 2025.

Vendelsömalmsskolan is a K-9 school with over 600 students and 100 competent staff members. We also have special education and municipal learning study groups.

We strive to lay the foundation for lifelong learning and to ensure that every student has the opportunity to develop as far as possible both academically and socially based on their individual circumstances. Our core values are based on four key principles: knowledge, collaboration, joy, and safety.

Grades 7-9 are organized in three parallel classes, and we have about 300 students in the upper secondary school. Our classrooms, library, café, break room, and cafeteria are located in newly renovated, beautiful facilities.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about developing our students in Swedish and English (it may only be one of the subjects during the 25-26 school year) and strives for your students to achieve the best results in all subjects through a listening approach and adaptations when needed. You share our core values and have a salutogenic approach, seeing opportunities instead of difficulties.

You will belong to one of our three teams in the upper secondary school and have shared mentorship for a class with one of your colleagues.

You will be part of the collaborative work at the school and work closely with subject colleagues.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for performing the usual tasks of a teacher. Together with subject teachers or individually, you will plan and evaluate teaching based on established goals.

Together with the teams in grades 7-9, you will participate in cross-curricular activities such as theme days, sports days, etc.

You will participate in conferences and development work within your subjects.

Qualifications

It is advantageous if you have documented experience of similar tasks and good subject knowledge. A good ability to collaborate and a holistic view of the student is a prerequisite for your work. You have good communication skills and find it easy to build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You take initiative and see challenges in trying different methods for students to succeed. Creativity and flexibility will help you further develop the school's activities.

Conditions

You are a certified teacher and have experience teaching upper secondary students. Completed or ongoing education in Swedish and English is a requirement.

Haninge municipality sees diversity as a strength and welcomes all applicants. Our competency-based recruitment methodology aims to focus on the individual's competencies and thereby counteract discrimination.
