The welfare sector consists of four operations: disability services, home care and home health care, individual and family care, and care and nursing homes. The disability services carry out all the interventions regulated by LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons), which include special housing and daily activities as well as personal assistance.
The main task of the operation is to promote equality in living conditions and full participation in community life for people with disabilities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a support assistant in a group home, we work in the residents' homes to provide support, service, and care according to regulated interventions within LSS. The focus in the operation is on low-arousal responses, and you should promote participation and independence through a structured and individualized approach. The work also includes documenting the implementation of the approved interventions.
As a support assistant, you are important for creating manageability, comprehensibility, and meaningfulness in the users' everyday lives based on their abilities. You are part of a team consisting of support educators, support assistants, a manager, and partners.
You and your team should together, based on our fundamental values and working methods, promote a well-functioning everyday life, every day. You will be part of a staff group that is scheduled according to the needs of the operation. We operate around the clock, every day of the year, so day, evening, weekend shifts, and on-call work at night are relevant.
QUALIFICATIONS
For Åsundavy group home, a staff group with mixed competencies and experiences is needed. We are looking for someone who primarily has a warm interest in working with people with disabilities in various forms and sees it as a given to always prioritize our users' best interests.
We welcome applications from candidates who have completed care and nursing, child and leisure programs, or have other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. We view positively if there is further specialization, either through studies or experience, in areas related to the profession. Examples of this are knowledge of clarifying pedagogy and low-arousal responses. Experience in care work, knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), and documentation are meritorious for the position.
Many employees in Ulricehamns kommun speak more than one language. This is a valuable asset, but it is also important to master Swedish as a primary language. To succeed in the job, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as good documentation and computer skills. A driver's license is not a requirement but is desirable.
To meet and support people with different levels of ability, you need to be attentive, communicative, and have an easy time establishing and maintaining contacts and relationships. You can work in a structured, situationally and individually adapted manner and are a calm, stable, and secure person. You are positive and see the importance of good cooperation with users, relatives, colleagues, and other people in and around the operation. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and experience.
