JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to make a difference as a support assistant for individuals living in BmSS, Housing with Special Services? We are currently looking for a support assistant for Egnahems BmSS in Landala. It is a service housing with 6 tenants, the target group includes intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, psychiatry, and autism. Our tenants have varying care needs, and some of our working methods include LAB, clarifying pedagogy, MI conversations, sign language support, and AAC. Your base employment will be at Egnahem, but if needed, you may also work at the nearby homes Blåelden and Åkerviolen.

As a support assistant, your role is to support the tenants in participation and create opportunities to influence decisions and interventions. You provide support in everyday life, ranging from communication, stimulating leisure activities to household chores. Your role is to adapt your support and contribute to a good and independent life. You collaborate with other individuals around the tenant, such as guardians, social workers, relatives, and healthcare professionals. The work includes social documentation and medication management according to delegation.

By establishing and following implementation plans, you ensure that the tenants' needs are prioritized. They receive a safe home with the opportunity to live like everyone else. In your role, you will motivate the tenants in their daily lives. This may involve stimulating contacts outside the residence and creating conditions for a rewarding leisure time based on the user's interests. As a support assistant, you enable our tenants to develop and grow.

Housing with special services offers support around the clock. We base our work on the tenants' needs and need to adjust working hours accordingly. Working hours are scheduled for daytime and evening, sleeping on duty, and weekends. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or educational work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

You need to have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit. You must be able to read, write, and express yourself fluently in both spoken and written Swedish, as communication and documentation are central parts of quality work.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in health and care, especially if you have worked with the target group and the working methods used at Egnahem. It is also beneficial if you have prior experience with social documentation and good computer skills since we actively work with welfare technology.

You work to ensure that the user receives what they need and have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different conditions. It is also important that you work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible. As a person, you take responsibility for your tasks and drive the work forward.
