Group Leader at SiS Youth Home Nereby

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. With us at SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work, or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS Youth Home Nereby operates in Harestad and Bergsjön. We conduct differentiated and high-quality school, care, and treatment work. The operation includes a variety of professions, such as teachers, treatment pedagogues, psychologists, nurses, and more. SiS Youth Home Nereby accepts both school-age and non-school-age boys with psychosocial issues, as well as criminality and substance abuse.

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Nereby is now looking for a secure, clear, and committed group leader for our new girls' unit in Harestad.

As a group leader at SiS, you play a key role in creating security and structure in the daily lives of placed youth, clients, and your colleagues. With a focus on collaboration and operational leadership, you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading the daily work on the department. In the role of group leader, you work closely with your colleagues, guiding and strengthening their ability to take responsibility and collaborate. You are a role model and contribute to a professional approach characterized by SiS's core values – respect, care, and clarity.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Leading and distributing the daily work on the department
  • Guiding and strengthening employees' sense of responsibility and collaboration
  • Introducing new employees and following up on their introduction
  • Checking staffing and communicating needs to the unit manager and staffing planner
  • Noticing deficiencies in the work environment, care, or safety
  • Promoting structures in daily life; for example, school, treatment, and activities
  • Collaborating with managers, other group leaders, and colleagues within SiS

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in this role, you need to be motivated to work with people in vulnerable life situations. You have a strong commitment to the operational meeting with youth and at the same time the ability to organize, structure, and lead others in daily work.

You are attentive, clear, and secure in yourself, with a professional approach and the ability to build good relationships even in pressured situations.

We see that you have:

  • Relevant university degree with a focus on social sciences, care, or behavioral sciences, or other education combined with work experience that SiS considers equivalent
  • Several years of relevant work experience from working within SiS or similar operations focusing on care, treatment, and safety (e.g., social services, correctional services, care, and treatment)
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing

Meritorious:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory position

Employment

The position is a permanent full-time employment and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date is according to agreement.
