Your New Job

As a family therapist, you will work with children and youth aged 0-21 and their families. The focus is on providing support, protection, and treatment to help children and youth grow up safely within their families.

The foundation of all work within Family Therapy is a systems theory approach, which aims to work with the individual, the family, and the entire network.

As a family therapist, you will work to utilize resources within the individual, family, and their network to develop protective factors and reduce risk factors in the child's/youth's upbringing environment. You will work individually or with a colleague to lead the change process in the family based on the assignment formulated by the Child and Youth Investigation Unit.

The assignments may include treatment to understand and meet the needs of children and youth, practical and pedagogical guidance in the parental role, change work in family relationships and interactions, crisis conversations, etc. In your role as a family therapist, you will have many internal and external contacts such as social workers, schools, and healthcare.

Some of the methods we use are MI, the Safety Circle, and Functional Family Therapy (FFT).

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in social work, social pedagogy, or another equivalent higher education.

We prefer candidates with experience in treatment work with children/youth, experience with problematic school attendance, domestic violence, substance abuse, as well as experience with some of the methods used.

To be successful as a family therapist with us, you should be engaged, persistent, and curious about people. Furthermore, you should be secure in yourself and your professional role. You should be able to meet people in need of social services support in a clear and trustworthy manner.

We will place great emphasis on the following:

• You work well with complex issues involving many stakeholders and have good collaboration skills
• You are goal- and results-oriented and take initiative to enable changes in treatment work
• You have good empathetic skills, are structured, and can document your work. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech, reading, and writing.

A valid driving license (B) is a requirement for the position.

Welcome to us! Family Therapy is part of the Child and Youth area, working to strengthen the bond between children and parents and to promote interaction and communication within the family. We primarily work with assessed assistance cases. The workgroup consists of 26 therapists, two coordinators, and one unit manager. We have a balanced distribution of age and gender in our team. You will join a workgroup with great competence, curiosity, flexibility, and a very good working atmosphere. Our workplace is centrally located in Jönköping.

Good to Know

The recruitment is for a permanent, full-time position, with start date according to agreement. We work daytime, but some work outside office hours may occur. We use ongoing selection.
