JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Being a foster care secretary in Aneby municipality means recruiting, investigating, advising, and supporting foster homes both individually and in groups. If necessary, it also includes investigating and guiding other contractors. You will meet families both at the office and in their homes, both individually and together with placement supervisors. Together with the placement supervisors, you work to ensure that the child, the biological parents, and the foster home receive the support needed for the placed child to have their needs met. The work may involve travel to foster homes and time outside the office. The target group also includes unaccompanied children for whom the social services are responsible. In our foster care group, there is one more foster care secretary with whom you share your mission, as well as two placement supervisors. Your closest colleagues also include receivers and investigators within children and youth. We are a small group with a strong team spirit that has worked hard in recent years focusing on workplace issues and establishing a stable and well-functioning foster care.

With us, you will work with a high degree of team spirit, supported by legislation, guidelines, and practices. In your daily work, you will receive support and supervision from the unit manager and colleagues, as well as an external supervisor. The work is characterized by professionalism and good treatment, as well as responsiveness to the needs of children, youth, and families. We strive to enable change for the children and youth we meet, promote collaboration, and work with participation and quality in a respectful manner. Our goal is to reach good solutions together with the individual.

We are currently facing an exciting and intensive development effort to meet the transition to the new social services law. Based on becoming an increasingly knowledge-based, accessible, and preventive social service, we are facing, among other things, the development of our collaboration between schools, social services, police, and leisure, the start-up of a school social team, and educational initiatives within IRisk, ICDP (Guiding Interaction), and observations/treatment in the home environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another equivalent university degree and/or experience. Preferably with experience in social work with children, youth, and families, as well as knowledge of the Social Services Act. Previous work with children and youth and/or foster care is meritorious. Further training in the foster care area, as well as experience working with ICDP, A Lasting Relationship, BRA-Fam, and BBIC is also considered advantageous.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability and that you stand behind the municipality's values; openness, development, and responsibility. A driver's license (B) is a requirement for the position. To succeed in the role, you need to have good documentation skills, as well as the ability to gather information, compile, analyze, and evaluate different courses of action and make an assessment that leads to proposals. This requires a good empathetic ability and that you are flexible, creative, relationship-building, and innovative to find the right solutions.

As a foster care secretary with us, you need to have a good ability to work both independently and together with others in a team, and you need to be able to listen to different perspectives. You will meet people in several different contexts, which requires you to have a professional and respectful approach. You need to be good at building trusting relationships and reflecting together with colleagues and management over the challenges that arise. We assume that you have good collaboration skills.
