Social Worker for the Field Group in Jönköping Municipality

Your New Job

Jönköping Municipality offers, through the Field Group, support to crime victims and witnesses as well as mediation.

This primarily involves early identification of children and young people who have been victims of crime or witnesses to crime, in order to offer support and assistance. The support is tailored individually and may involve conversations to process the crime event and its consequences, practical help during the legal process, or referrals to other relevant support services. The target group is young people up to 21 years old and their relatives.

Mediation is offered to young offenders aged 12 to 21 according to the Act (2002:445) on mediation in connection with crime. Mediation means that an offender and a victim are given the opportunity to meet with an impartial mediator. The crime can be between individuals or between an individual and a legal entity. The purpose of mediation is to allow all parties to process their experiences of the consequences of the crime and to agree on how to relate to each other in the future. The philosophy of justice that mediation is based on is restorative justice.

This position entails a special responsibility for mediation. In practice, this means that you will spend most of your working hours handling mediation cases, but you are also expected to be responsible for support conversations with crime victims and witnesses. Your work will also include driving development issues primarily related to mediation, with the support of the unit's coordinator.

Your immediate supervisor is the unit manager for the Field Group and the Social Intervention Group (SIG).

Your Competence

You who are applying for the position have a recognized degree in social work. It is an advantage if you have previously worked socially with youth, support or therapeutic conversations, and mediation. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.

As a person, you are confident in working independently, have an easy time creating and developing professional relationships, and collaborating with others both internally and externally. We place great importance on your drive to work on development issues in the field. You should have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work.

Welcome to Us

We are located at Barnarpsgatan 36 in Jönköping. Support and mediation for young crime victims and witnesses are part of the Field Group, along with 14 other field secretaries. Additionally, five other employees work with SSPF (collaboration model school, social services, police, and leisure), Social Intervention Group (SIG), and Support for Adult Dropouts. You will be supervised by the unit manager and the coordinator for the operation.

Good to Know

The recruitment concerns a parental leave substitute for at least 1 year, full-time, starting September 1, 2025, and ending as agreed with the unit manager. An extension may be possible. Working hours are primarily during the day, but evening work may occur.

In your application, we want you to include a CV as well as attached diploma and current employment certificates. All your employment must be verifiable with certificates indicating position and the extent of your work. Even if you already work with us, you need to present diplomas and employment certificates for positions you have held outside the municipality. At the job interview, an extract from the National Police Board's criminal and suspicion register must be submitted according to the provisions of the Act (2007:171) on background checks at such homes for care or housing that receive children. Order this in good time and bring it to the interview.
