The Department of Work and Welfare consists of Individual and Family Care, Support, Service and Housing, as well as Education, Work and Prevention. We are a total of about 300 employees who work salutogenically and solution-oriented with a knowledge base in scientifically grounded methods.

Our mission is to help and support individuals with social problems and/or disabilities, to work preventively and promote efforts to counteract social exclusion and problems, and through studies or employment find a way into working life towards self-sufficiency. From a child rights perspective, we help, support, and protect children and young people so that they can live and develop under good and safe conditions.

Placement: Personal assistant to a man

Who am I? I am a lively and cheerful man in my 40s living in central Sölvesborg. I am interested in hockey and football, walks, outings, coffee with friends, and more. On weekdays, I attend daily activities. One day a week, I swim at the swimming pool with my assistants. I need support and help from my assistants with most things in my daily life.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Working in the Disability Care in Sölvesborg Municipality means that you, based on the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS), create conditions for the user to live as independently and freely as possible. As a personal assistant, you will:

• Provide the user with support and care in daily activities.
• Motivate and empower: You work to strengthen the user's trust in themselves and allow the user's own opinions to be highlighted without speaking on their behalf. You always keep the user in focus.
• Create structure and security: By being thorough and engaged, you contribute to a safe and secure daily life for the user.
• Perform health and medical tasks according to delegation.

You will work days and evenings as well as night shifts. Work every other weekend.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with education in care and nursing programs with a focus on disabilities, who has completed a child and leisure program, or has other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

We seek individuals with the following qualities: humble, flexible, proactive, and responsible. You find it easy to collaborate. You should be able to be flexible in reallocating tasks based on the user's needs, wishes, and implementation plan.

In your role, it is important that you are attentive, empathetic, and positive. You should be accustomed to planning and documenting the interventions you perform. Your ability to create security and structure is crucial. Collaboration is a natural part of your work.

Experience with clear pedagogy and low-arousal responses is an advantage. Experience as a personal assistant and/or work within LSS is also a plus.

Documentation and communication are important parts of daily work, and therefore you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. If you lack a passing grade in Swedish at the high school level, a language test will be used to ensure competence. The recruiting manager may decide that a language test should be used even if there is a passing grade.

Personal suitability is highly valued.

Computer skills are required.

A B driver's license is required for the position.
