The finance department is centrally located within the administration and is responsible for providing financial conditions and documentation for our five school areas. With a budget framework of over 2.7 billion and approximately 120 principals to support, we want to work with transparent and clear financial management.

The world of education is more in focus than ever, and the pace of change is rapid both from the state and municipal levels. Resources for schools are extensive, and a high degree of planning is required to utilize them for the best possible results. The finance department plays a central role in the operations in many ways, as many decisions depend on us providing clear financial information. Engagement, curiosity, and follow-up are also required to enable both development and a balanced economy.

The department is undergoing a transformation journey where we will collectively find the best working methods related to the municipality's new decision support system, Power BI. We need to improve our ability to share the systems available within the administration, and we are looking for someone who wants to help provide the best possible support to the principals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Together with your five colleagues in the department, your main tasks will include budgeting, budget follow-up, resource allocation models, grants to independent principals, and the development of decision support systems.

We work with planning and forecasts that result in the financial documentation that the school areas then allocate to the operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying have a degree in economics from a university or college. We want you to have experience working with finance as an economist, controller, or equivalent, and experience with budget work. We want you to have knowledge and an interest in public operations. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in a politically governed organization as well as experience working with finance in a public sector.

Of course, you handle IT tools as a natural part of your work. We want you to have good knowledge of Excel and experience with decision support systems. The work requires good knowledge of Swedish and the ability to communicate financial matters clearly in both speech and writing. You can write clearly, concisely, and well-structured, and adapt your texts according to the intended target audience. Furthermore, you can speak clearly and exude credibility and confidence with the ability to hold presentations, lectures, and training sessions tailored to the audience's needs and feedback. You who are applying to us have a B driver's license to easily get around to our operations if needed.

To succeed in the role, you need to be able to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally. You collaborate well with people in various contexts and functions. We want you to have the ability to carefully analyze and assess different types of data to draw well-considered conclusions and create effective solutions. You also have the ability to plan and organize your work and find it easy to set goals, organize resources, follow up, and complete activities.
