About the Workplace

Right now, Helsingborg is going against the trend in the country and investing in culture. We are strengthening the communications department to build an even greater pride around Helsingborg as a cultural city - as the city expands our libraries, focuses on cinematic storytelling, strengthens the culture school, and invests in showcasing the most interesting contemporary art and our rich art collections.

Your Mission

Your mission as a strategic communicator is to work together with development teams and operations to highlight the most citizen-relevant cultural development in the city. The new position will focus on activities within cultural development, film, and the culture school.

Cultural Administration's Public Activities

The Cultural Administration's public activities include Helsingborg's libraries, Helsingborg's museum, Helsingborg's culture school, Helsingborg's art hall, and Dunkers stages. Together, they are supported by shared staff functions for communication, administration, finance, and HR.

Communications Department

The communications department consists of eleven employees who have roles in project management, web, design, copy, social media, film, and press. We work to strengthen the administration's brands and communicate Helsingborg's cultural offerings and development.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with experience in strategic and operational communication work within cultural and creative industries. An important part of this position will be to build expectations and interest around Helsingborg's art hall, which opens in 2026.

Responsible for planning and implementing communication for Helsingborg's art hall and Dunkers stages and Dunkers cultural house.
You will project manage communication efforts and create conditions for your producing colleagues.
You will create strong and well-functioning relationships both internally and externally. Meet with management groups and colleagues to gather insights about the operations' goals and development.

Qualifications

University education in strategic communication and marketing or another education that we assess as equivalent.
Project management training, or you have documented experience in driving projects focused on strategic communication.
Experience in strategic communication work within creative industries.
You have experience working with social media and keep yourself updated on digital marketing.
Experience managing budgets for projects.
Very good knowledge of Swedish and English.
