Assistant Wanted!

Right now, I am looking for my new assistant! Maybe you are studying and want to work a little extra? Then this position is perfect for you!

My name is Cornelia, I am 10 years old. I live in a villa in Lerberget (Höganäs municipality) with my mom, dad, and twin brother. We also have the best dog in the world, Amica. I have a rare syndrome, ADNP, which means I have an intellectual disability and a CVI (cerebral visual impairment). This is why I need you by my side - an assistant who wants to fill my (and your) days with joy, fun, and lots of play! I want you to be open, positive, creative, and playful.

Since I have difficulty seeing certain things, you need to guide, inspire, and encourage me! I know a few words but would love your help to make myself understood. It's not always easy to express what I really want to say! You will also assist with meal situations, dressing and undressing, showering/hygiene, and diaper changes (if you have experience with enemas, that is a big plus). One requirement from my side is that you are smoke-free!

I love visiting different playgrounds, going to the library, crafting, and baking. I also have a great interest in music, dance, and gymnastics, so I am looking for someone who is ready to be themselves and have fun with me! As a person, I am cheerful and have a good sense of humor. I can also be stubborn and determined! Therefore, it is important that you can be both confident in yourself, receptive, and fearless in your communication. You know, I like to test your boundaries from time to time...

For me, it doesn't matter if you are a boy or a girl. It also doesn't matter how old you are! The most important thing is that you see me, are engaged, and have a low-arousal approach. Since there will be some lifting involved in the job, we prefer that you have good physical fitness. It is not a requirement, but it is certainly an advantage if you have experience in previous assistant or care work (or working with younger children). If you also have experience with PEG, that is a big plus (medication is administered this way). A driver's license is required for this position.

You will work extra with me as needed, such as during illnesses, vacations, holidays, etc. Before a potential employment, you will have the opportunity to shadow and receive help from my existing assistants. I want you to feel secure regarding routines, tasks, and of course, hanging out with me! Additionally, I have a lot to teach you. If you help me, I will help you - Win-win, okay?
