The Workplace

The Funktionsstöd department is divided into three units: the authority unit, the particularly resource-intensive unit, and the traditional unit.

We are now looking for you to join the particularly resource-intensive unit as a support assistant, creating a calm and safe environment for the users.

The target group of the residence is group 1 within LSS, which includes individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, or autism-like conditions. Furthermore, this means that individuals have disabilities combined with other diagnoses. We operate from a user-oriented perspective where users are provided support and services based on individual needs. The goal is to enable independence, self-determination, and participation to the greatest extent possible, based on each user's abilities.

The group home and workplace are located just outside Trelleborg's urban area. You can easily get to and from the workplace by your own bike or car.

Job Responsibilities

As a support assistant, you are a key person in supporting and guiding users based on a pedagogical and practical approach in their daily lives, including; care/hygiene, activities, cooking, and skill training. All with the aim of helping users achieve increased independence.

Based on the users' implementation plan, you work to establish, drive, and follow up on the goals of the implementation plan and realize the highest possible quality and participation in everyday life.

With a focus on good and clear communication and positive interactions, your task is to create calm and safety for the users regardless of the situation. Furthermore, you provide support and create conditions for good contact with relatives, healthcare, and other important contacts for the individual. Within the internal organization, you primarily collaborate with other support assistants, support pedagogues, and management to continuously develop operations and achieve set goals.

Qualifications

For the role of support assistant, we are looking for someone who has:

  • High school diploma or vocational qualification from the healthcare and nursing program, the child and leisure program, or another equivalent education that the employer deems equivalent
  • At least one year of work experience in functional support/LSS: care and nursing and/or the school environment where you have worked with individuals with autism, psychiatry, or challenging behavior and/or clarifying pedagogy.
  • Good computer skills and documentation experience
  • Good ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
  • At least a B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles
  • Good physical ability, as the job includes activities with the users

Rolling schedule day/evening/every other weekend, part-time/full-time
