The Little Preschool Class is an upcoming preschool class at Katrineberg School starting in autumn 2025 for students with significant intellectual challenges and cognitive difficulties. Here you will have the opportunity to influence and build a program for these students, together with other staff. Your permanent employment will be with the adapted primary school, but the placement will be at Katrineberg School's primary school. This is because the adapted primary school does not yet have a preschool class. However, Mölndal wants to offer a shared learning environment for this specific target group, which is why the Little Preschool Class is being established.

For the operation, we are looking for staff with at least a two-year YH education who will have the opportunity to start and develop the new organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You are involved in the student's entire school/recreational day.

You work closely with the students to provide support in all situations.

You are involved in planning, conducting, analyzing, and following up on teaching based on the curriculum's subject areas: aesthetic activities, motor skills, communication, daily activities, and perception of reality.

Collaboration, joy at work, and professionalism permeate the work—qualities we believe you will also contribute.

You help develop the students' learning environment to ensure it is safe, accessible, permissive, enjoyable, and stimulating.

It is beneficial if you have experience with PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy), epilepsy, hoists, corsets, respiratory aids, aids for motor training, and AAC (alternative and augmentative communication).

Together, we create a learning environment that promotes positive communication. We use AAC daily to strengthen the students' communication skills and their opportunities for positive academic and social development.

The school has access to a student health team that offers support and guidance from special educators, speech therapists, and psychologists. Together, we work to give each student the best possible conditions to succeed and develop.

The position includes work both during school hours and in recreational activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

YH education in pedagogy or equivalent education such as activation pedagogue, support pedagogue, or leisure pedagogue.

Experience working with children with intellectual disabilities (ID) and movement disabilities as well as knowledge in alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) is an advantage.

You establish clear goals and plan activities and projects in good time. You use time effectively and work systematically, organized, and methodically. You ensure that the work is completed and follow up on the results.

You easily adapt your working methods based on changed conditions and new information. You can quickly change your perspective and approach and see opportunities in changes.

You listen to others to understand their needs. You actively seek others' opinions and perspectives and are receptive to them by showing respect, consideration, and care. You work for cohesion in the workgroup and see failures as something to learn from, creating space for dialogue.

You are outgoing and socially active in professional contexts. You create good relationships and build networks with people who are important for your professional role (at various levels/internal/external). Because you enjoy meeting others, you have the ability to find opportunities for relevant collaborations.

You have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you contribute to a respectful work climate. You understand the common mission, act accordingly, and contribute to the whole.
