We are looking for both qualified and unqualified teachers as well as trained and untrained student assistants who can work as substitutes in our schools. This is an opportunity for you to gain experience and references that will be beneficial regardless of what you work with in the future. As a substitute, you are employed on an hourly basis and can enter your own availability for when you can work. The school's needs dictate the working hours, which are scheduled during the day between 05:30-18:00 Monday to Friday. The needs of the schools may arise at short notice, so it is good if you have the flexibility to substitute where the need arises. Here in Borås City, students are our focus, and we have great confidence in their abilities and competencies. Together with other colleagues at the school, you contribute to creating a positive, meaningful, and developing environment for each student and for the entire student group.

Job Responsibilities

In primary school, daily responsibility and work with students from preschool class to grade 9 is included. As a teacher, your task is to independently conduct class instruction and provide support to the students. You can choose whether you want to work in grades F-6, 7-9, or both. If you work as a teacher in after-school care, your task is to offer meaningful time before and after school, and during lesson time, you support in the classroom. As a student assistant, you work with one or more students who need extra support either in the classroom, during breaks, or in after-school care.

In adapted schools, you work to support students who need pedagogical and physical assistance in their learning, from preschool class up to high school. Students should have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and competencies to be encouraged in their personal development. You work as a student assistant in classes with six to ten students where you are present as an extra adult together with one or more educators and assistants. You always work in a team. You can also work in after-school care or short-term supervision (KTS). Short-term supervision is for students who are thirteen years old and older. In the adapted school, there may be heavy lifting involved.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who, with joy and knowledge, wants to help provide students with a safe, creative, educational, and positive time in school. You are engaged and have a professional approach towards students, guardians, and colleagues. Your tasks and workplaces are varied, so you need to be open to adapting in your work. You take initiative and can work independently. You should be interested in providing good care and teaching, thereby encouraging students' development and learning. We prefer that you have a complete high school diploma. If you have relevant education or experience working with children and youth, it is a plus, but not a requirement. Since communication is an important part of school, it is a requirement that you have a good command of the Swedish language in speech, writing, and comprehension. Having a driver's license and access to a car is an advantage.
