Teacher for the Introduction Programs at Vadsbogymnasiet

At Vadsbogymnasiet in Mariestad, eleven national programs are offered, both preparatory for higher education and vocational training. There is also sports specialization, young entrepreneurship, and program certifications. The school currently has over 700 students and about 75 educators. Here, we work together in program teams, close to the principal and the various professions in student health to create good conditions for our students.

The Introduction Programs at Vadsbogymnasiet are a natural part of the school, and the activities are in the same premises as the national programs. We are facing an upcoming retirement in the IM programs and are therefore looking for a replacement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a teacher in the Introduction Programs, you will be an important part of the program team and teach both classes, smaller groups, and individual students. You will have varied assignments based on the students' needs. This means that you participate in planning, implementation, evaluation, and development of teaching in the programs. You will also be a mentor for a group of students.

A large part of your assignment will involve working closely with students in their daily learning processes and providing them with support based on the needs that exist at both group and individual levels.

You will be part of the IM program team where you work together with colleagues around the students in the Introduction Programs. You are also expected to work closely with the school's student health team, which includes special educators, school nurses, and counselors.

The position includes the opportunity to become a program team leader for IM with the right skills and previous experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be qualified for this position, a teaching license in some of the subjects Swedish, SVA, English, or Mathematics is required. Experience working in Introduction Programs or grades 7-9 is an advantage.

• Has a good ability to build secure professional relationships with students.
• Enjoys working together with teachers and other professionals in the school to create good conditions for students in their efforts to reach their goals.
• Has the ability and willingness to create motivation and interest in learning among students.
• Is a secure and flexible person who enjoys working in a team but also has the drive and ability to work independently based on the assignment.
• Has an interest in and experience of participating in processes and development work related to didactic, pedagogical, and special educational issues.
