GIL has coordinated personal assistance since 1989. The cooperative has roots in the Independent Living movement, which is based on the principle that those with disabilities know best how they want to live their lives. Normally, the person receiving assistance is the closest supervisor of the assistants, or a person with specific knowledge about the individual is appointed.

As a personal assistant, you support a person with a disability to live the life they want to live. To attract and retain competent and satisfied assistants, we invest in training and events. Do you want a job where patience and creativity are your superpowers? A 28-year-old guy with a twinkle in his eye and a lot of energy needs an assistant who can support him in his daily life – and preferably get him involved in fun activities.

Working hours are scheduled as follows:

• Monday 15:00–20:00
• Tuesday 22:00–06:00 (4.5 hours of sleeping duty)
• Thursday 22:00–06:00 (4.5 hours of sleeping duty)

Your role involves a lot of supervision – the guy has a knack for getting into mischief that isn't always completely safe. You will also help him with tasks like going to the bathroom and taking appropriately sized bites at the dinner table.

Who are you?

You have plenty of patience and a knack for making everyday life active and fun. You are reliable and can handle situations that require calm and focus. You have a driving license, as you will sometimes be out and about with the guy.

The position starts as a part-time employment, with the possibility of transitioning to a fixed-term employment as long as the assistance assignment lasts, with a working degree of 42%.

• GIL has a collective agreement with Fremia-communal.
• GIL offers its employees 2,500 SEK/year in contributions for wellness and health.
• GIL applies individual salary setting. Salary according to agreement.
