Support Worker Who Wants to Contribute to Life-Changing Transformation
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Nereby operates in Harestad and Bergsjön. We conduct differentiated and high-quality school, care, and treatment work. The operation includes a variety of professions, such as teachers, treatment pedagogues, psychologists, nurses, and more. SiS Youth Home Nereby receives both school-age and non-school-age boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminality and substance abuse.
Job Description
Do you want to help create the life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a support worker at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to new and less risky ways of living. As a support worker, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth and clients, providing the foundation for daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You will also contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines, and documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building safe relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth/clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathy, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
You should also have:
- Completed upper secondary education
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., in psychiatry, HVB operations, or care and support.
- Driver's license B
- Good Swedish in speech and writing

Employment:
The position is a temporary position/seasonal employment/summer job.
By agreement from June to August with the possibility of temporary employment during the spring and autumn of 2025.
Start date by agreement. Before employment, the employer will handle background checks against suspicions and the criminal record.
