Social Worker for the Adult Unit at the Social Administration Sydväst

The Social Administration Sydväst is one of four social administrations in Gothenburg City with around 900 employees. The urban area of Sydväst has approximately 120,000 residents and stretches from Billdal to Högsbohöjd and to the southern archipelago. The administration's mission is to ensure that children, youth, and adults can live a safe and independent life and that children and youth have a rich leisure time. The administration also works to support homeless individuals towards permanent housing. Through collaboration with civil society, local businesses, and other stakeholders, we aim to improve public health and safety in the area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Adult Unit in the Social Administration Sydväst is located at Topasgatan 58, sharing the premises with the Financial Support Units across three different floors. We in the substance abuse unit share a corridor with the rehabilitation units within financial support to enhance collaboration on our shared cases. We are in a creative process, making progress in our work structures and routines to collectively create a purposeful and professional operation based on the resources we have in the unit.

You will be part of the substance abuse unit where all investigations regarding substance abuse/dependency are handled. We have a total of 16 investigative social workers in the substance abuse unit with three senior social workers sharing method supervision and case reviews to prioritize close management. The substance abuse unit consists of competent social workers who take collegial responsibility and are helpful. We see this as very important for the well-being and for a good work climate in our otherwise complex and developing mission. The Adult Unit Sydväst also includes a common Reception, Young Adults (18-25 years), the Housing Group, and two execution groups, totaling about 50 employees.

The tasks of a social worker in the substance abuse unit mainly consist of handling and investigating applications and reports regarding substance abuse/dependency and housing related to the target group. You will use tools such as ASI for mapping and follow-up and will participate in collaborative meetings internally within the department, healthcare, criminal justice, housing, treatment providers, and other important stakeholders for the applicant. We also handle involuntary care according to LVM (Law on Care of Addicts) in certain cases and manage reports of concern in current cases.

If you are offered a position with us, you will have external process supervision together with your colleagues and some opportunity for remote work. You will also have the chance to develop in your role as a social worker for this target group that has a dependency or addiction and will be part of a good work team with close management!

QUALIFICATIONS

A basic requirement is that you have completed a degree in social work. You also need to have prior work experience in public authority practice.
