Social Worker with the Role of Family Home Secretary
Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic locations with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently facing an intensive development period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The municipality works to ensure both good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate.
We want you as a colleague!
We are looking for a social worker with the role of Family Home Secretary and hope you want to become one of us.
With us, you will be involved in developing family home care and be an important part of a team that works for a safe and meaningful everyday life for our placed children and young people. We create conditions for the child to develop based on their own abilities and resources, and to prepare for an independent life.
As a social worker with us, you will be part of a workgroup where participation and collaboration are in focus. We help each other, come up with ideas, drive development, and share knowledge with one another. Together, we strive for a workplace where there is time and space for reflection and recovery, and support from management in daily work.
We are now recruiting a social worker to our workgroup and are looking for someone who wants to be part of our continued development work, where you contribute ideas, take responsibility, and are proactive in the development of family home care. Your main tasks will be to be responsible for the recruitment, investigation, and supervision of family homes, contact families, and contact persons.
In the unit, there are four family home secretaries, six child secretaries, three family law secretaries, as well as one social worker who recruits and supervises contact persons for adults, two senior social workers, and a unit manager.
We use the Signs of Safety approach and tools in our work with our placed children, their families, and our family homes. We work to strengthen the child's sense of belonging and participation and include the child, parents, and others who are important to the child in the planning of care.
In the coming year, we are facing a new social services law and the work to create secure placements for children in community care. Similarly, work is ongoing on how we can use digital solutions in our work that provide value for those we serve and for the organization. We strive to have all our family homes managed in-house.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will receive individual introduction at the workplace as well as a mentor for as long as you need; whether you are new or experienced in the profession. Together with your colleagues, you will be part of a larger network where you can exchange ideas and experiences.
Your main tasks will be to be responsible for the recruitment, investigation, and supervision of family homes, contact families, and contact persons. You should be able to plan and prioritize and provide regular support and supervision to the family homes during their assignments. You will also be involved in training sessions for our family homes.
We work in teams, family home secretaries and child secretaries around the child, and you plan your work together based on the child's needs and situation. Since there are often multiple actors around the child, you are expected to be able to collaborate and cooperate with others but also to work independently and make your own decisions.
In addition to the daily support you receive from your senior social worker, you will also receive regular external supervision with the group.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in family home work/placed children and young people, as well as experience in investigation and supervision of family homes. We prefer that you have some form of supervisory training and have worked with Signs of Safety. You can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and see method development as an important part of the work. You have the ability to work independently and make your own decisions, reflect, drive processes forward, and monitor the environment. A driver's license is a requirement for the position.
We are looking for someone who is unpretentious, flexible, and committed to working for everyone's participation. You are good at communicating and collaborating with others in an environment where there can sometimes be a high pace. You need to be meticulous and resilient to stress. You are empathetic and understand what good treatment means, both in meetings with our users and towards colleagues. We work to make the child involved in decisions regarding care, where the child's attitude and opinions should be particularly considered.
Benefits
As an employee with us, you have access to wellness grants, free coffee and fruit, and the opportunity to exchange vacation days. We have annual working hours and you are expected to have some flexibility with working hours. Some evening work and travel may occur.
Interviews may begin during the application period.
Start date by agreement.
Welcome with your application!
