RESPONSIBILITIES

Schillerska Gymnasium is a modern school in a historic environment. We have about 1100 students and up to 110 permanent staff. Close collaboration between students, staff, and the outside world provides a current and sought-after education where each student's development is at the center. Student influence is central to the school's work, and we have an active student council. The school is located in culturally marked premises in central Gothenburg, near Vasaplatsen, which offers many opportunities for study visits and collaborations with other institutions. We are now looking for a social pedagogue for the aesthetic and humanities programs at Schillerska Gymnasium who has a genuine interest in working with youth in a school environment and sees it as natural to be out in the activities together with students and staff. By building trusting relationships with the students and being a natural part of their school day, you can pick up early signals and work preventively. Together with your colleagues, you will drive development based on the student's and the organization's wellness factors. Your perspective is characterized by opportunities rather than obstacles. You have the ability to adapt your working methods to the target group and are open to developing new working methods. Each student should be met with respect, feel safe, and thrive in school. This is an important foundation for students to achieve their study goals.

You should be a visible and supportive adult during breaks. You provide students with alternatives and opportunities for broadened perspectives. By placing health and learning in context, you contribute to the students' well-being and their ability to achieve the goals of education.

The student health team supports the work with students' development towards educational goals and collaborates with the pedagogical staff to develop the school's working and learning environments. You are a driving partner in our values and equal treatment work at the school and in working for a drug- and violence-free environment for our youth. In collaboration with the work team, we continuously refine your tasks so that your skills are utilized and meet the needs of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is an educated social pedagogue or what we assess to be equivalent. You have previously worked as a social pedagogue in the school world with adolescents and have competence in psychosocial work and social change work.

You work from a holistic perspective at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You are knowledgeable in cognitive and solution-focused working methods and can meet people in a professional and insightful manner. We see that you have extensive experience or education to work with youth with various neuropsychiatric diagnoses and possess the ability to hold motivational conversations.

Furthermore, you are interested in school development and want to develop learning environments that meet students' needs. You want to work with an inclusive approach and find it easy to collaborate, both with staff within the school and with the surrounding community. You are used to working cross-professionally and can collaborate with different roles within and outside the organization. By being interested and creating understanding for others, you contribute to a respectful working climate. You are communicative and attentive. You have the ability to make independent decisions within the framework of your assignment. You can overview your own area of responsibility and place the significance of your own work in a larger context. You show interest in and collaborate on overarching issues to create added value. You take into account different sources of information and perspectives and can adapt others' ideas to your own work. You see opportunities for change and create situations where new ideas and proposals can be developed.

You need to be a secure and responsible person who enjoys working with both adults and youth in a school environment. We place great importance on personal suitability and experience in conversations with youth. You have the ability to see how interaction between individual, group, and organization works. Good ability to collaborate with other professionals, teachers, and school management is important.
