Skeppsvägen is a residential facility with special services according to LSS. The accommodation is located in Sjötorp, a cozy community by the Göta Canal, about 20 kilometers from Mariestad. The location is very nice with walking distance to both Vänern and the canal. There are five ground-floor apartments, each with its own patio.

We are now looking for a support pedagogue who wants to be part of our wonderful team!

Are you pedagogically inclined and have good knowledge of LSS legislation? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, the tasks will be divided between working closely with the users and providing pedagogical support to colleagues. The idea is that the position will gradually shift more towards purely support pedagogical work. Currently, your tasks will include:

• Supporting residents in everyday situations such as household chores, meal situations, personal hygiene, and leisure activities
• Working to increase users' participation, integrity, independence, and self-determination.
• Having a special responsibility for the development of the pedagogical activities.
• Gathering and disseminating knowledge about sustainable and evidence-based pedagogical methods to drive the operations forward.
• Actively listening to the thoughts and ideas of staff and trying to incorporate them.
• Acting as a sounding board and support for other staff regarding documentation and the establishment of implementation plans.
• Assisting and supporting staff with development work in pedagogical methods to increase individual users' participation in their daily lives and promote their independence.
• Supervising students from relevant educational programs related to the support pedagogue role.
• Actively participating in regular network meetings.

In this work, you will collaborate with other support pedagogues in the municipality. You will also have contact with relatives, employees, and colleagues in daily activities and group/service housing, nurses, unit managers, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS

To work as a support pedagogue, you need to have a suitable education such as post-secondary specialization in the field of disabilities with a pedagogical focus, comprising at least 200 vocational higher education credits or 60 university credits. Alternatively, you have a combination of YH and university credits equivalent to at least two semesters of full-time studies.

We expect you to have knowledge of legislation, documentation, and quality assurance, as well as experience in planning, reflecting, and evaluating your work.

As a support pedagogue, you must have a good ability to create structure for participants in daily activities and be responsive to the signals you receive. The role also requires knowledge of pedagogical approaches and communication/AKK, and the ability to work in a low-arousal manner.

You are skilled at motivating and engaging your colleagues in development work. Furthermore, you need to be responsible, see solutions instead of obstacles, and enjoy varied tasks. We consider it a given that you have a humble approach and value good collaboration.

As a support pedagogue, there is an opportunity to influence the design of the work in close collaboration with colleagues and the unit manager.

A driving license (B) is required.
