The Social Administration Hisingen is part of the social services in the City of Gothenburg. We are one of four social administrations. We work purposefully to create a better everyday life for the residents of Hisingen.

We offer support in individual and family care, social emergency services, assistance with addiction issues, and integration matters. We also work with recreational activities and preventive work, such as public health initiatives, community planning, local safety work, and integration issues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

"In our work with people, the tasks are varied. Much of this is due to the fact that financial assistance consists of different parts: both motivational work with clients and economic and legal matters. We face many challenges, but our competence, along with support from colleagues and management, strengthens us and creates security." This is how two of our social workers describe their work in the financial assistance unit.

The department for financial support works with authority exercise and consists of a reception unit and four equivalent units that handle ongoing assistance cases. The units are located in two local offices at Höstvädersgatan 1 and Dunfins gata 20-22 in Hisings Backa.

We are now looking for a new colleague for the local office on Dunfins gata for a permanent position.

At Dunfins gata, two of the department's units are located, and each unit consists of 13 social workers, one social administrator, two senior social workers, and one unit manager. The units have a close collaboration, so when you join us, you will have many colleagues!

As a social worker, you will work with two assignments. One involves motivating and providing interventions that help individuals become self-sufficient. The other assignment involves investigating and assessing the right to financial assistance. In your work, you will collaborate with other actors, such as the Social Insurance Agency, healthcare, the Employment Agency, and internal actors within social services.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. We would prefer if you have previous experience working with financial support, but the most important thing for us is that you want to contribute to our good collaboration. To succeed in this role, it is important that you can work with authority exercise while also supporting and motivating individuals.

As a person, you are communicative and have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing. Furthermore, you are structured and can follow routines and guidelines. Since you will meet people in vulnerable situations in your work, you must be professional in your role and have a good approach. As you will collaborate with many different actors, the work requires you to have good teamwork skills and be receptive.
