Familjens hus within the Individual and Family Care is expanding its operations and is now looking for you who want to make a difference for children and young people in Vänersborg municipality who come into contact with the social services' open care.

We need reinforcement for our unit and look forward to welcoming new colleagues who want to share our rewarding work assignments and our work community. The unit is facing a development project related to the new social services act where we need to create conditions for early preventive measures as well as qualified evidence-based methodology to meet the needs of children, young people, and parents.

The teams at Familjens hus work with both preventive and supportive/treatment measures. In the future, the family therapists will be organized into three teams focusing on children, youth, and a team that works proactively on prevention. The purpose of this division is to streamline and specialize for the best possible quality, and the importance of collaboration between the teams is crucial, which means that one also works across teams in tasks as needed.

The children's team works with children aged 0-12 years with various issues such as care deficiencies, school problems, and violence. The youth team works with young people aged 13-20 years where school problems, mental health issues, and norm-breaking behavior may be relevant. The preventive team in the form of first-line social services will start in its entirety in the autumn of 2025, focusing on early detection and early intervention based on the new social services act's framework.

Familjens hus collaborates with all parts of Individual and Family Care as well as external organizations such as schools, BUP, and support for relatives, etc. All family therapists receive continuous methodological guidance/support from our senior treatment secretaries as well as external supervision.

Job Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a family therapist are partly carried out on behalf of the Individual and Family Care's Child and Youth Unit based on assistance decisions or through interventions without assistance assessments where families themselves turn to Familjens hus. The needs of our children and young people, the nature of the assignment, and the participation of the children and families guide how the work is planned and executed by family therapists, focusing on offering children, young people, and their families support and treatment with an emphasis on communication and relationships within the family system.

In the work as a family therapist, several different methods and tools are used, including KOMET, CPU, FFT, Barnahuset's intervention model BIM, HELA BARN, Repulse, and other attachment and system-theoretical methods. These are evaluated and updated regularly to ensure that the operations meet the needs of children, young people, and their parents. We also offer several support groups for both parents and children, and we conduct observations, provide victim support, and perform visitation support, youth care, and community service according to court rulings.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree as a social worker, social educator, or other equivalent education deemed suitable. Previous experience in support and treatment work is desirable and meritorious, as well as experience and competence in change work related to family treatment.

Important personal qualities include good collaboration skills, being brave and curious, comfortable working independently, as well as flexibility and the ability to listen and see things from multiple perspectives. You should have the ability to express yourself well and nuanced in speech and writing. We place great importance on personal suitability that complements other employees in the workgroup.

Given that the unit is expanding its operations, these positions may be directed within all three teams based on experience and competence.

A driver's license (B) is a requirement.

Conditions

Work primarily occurs during the day, but some afternoon/evening shifts may also occur. Therefore, you need to be flexible and adapt your working hours according to our flexible working hours agreement. Travel is required in the position, and a driver's license (B) is therefore a requirement.

Permanent employment with a start date to be agreed upon.
