About Ågrenska

Ågrenska is a unique, developing meeting place and a national competence center. Who will you be working with?

I am an 11-year-old active, playful boy living with my mom, dad, and older brother in Kungälv.

I love excitement and am looking for a creative assistant with a childlike spirit who wants to go on adventures with me. I enjoy fast-paced activities such as driving remote-controlled cars, jumping on trampolines, riding roller coasters at Liseberg, playing with trains, swimming in the sea and at swimming pools, and running in a framerunner or participating in various races in a special running cart. I also enjoy calm and relaxing experiences like visiting Eldorado and all the sensory rooms available there. I also participate in wheelchair dancing with my friends.

I have cerebral palsy, severe intellectual disability, bilateral cochlear implants, and epilepsy. I also have a button on my stomach that I am fed through when I cannot eat by mouth. I do not have verbal language but am very expressive and communicate with my eyes and body language. Therefore, it is important that you are attentive and can read my needs and what I want. I am also practicing communicating using visual support in a PODD book and eye-gaze computer. I need help with everything in my daily life, such as dressing and undressing, assisting me with food and medication, changing my diaper, washing me, and becoming independent in play.

It is good if you have strong arms and can assist me with lifting in my aids. I have a NF-walker (walking frame) that I love to run in. It is also a great advantage if you have experience working with children with disabilities.

As my assistant, you will help with everything that may arise in my daily life, such as dressing and personal care.

Scope of the Position

The position is initially a temporary position at 40% where you will work during the period of weeks 13-19 according to the schedule below:

Odd weeks are working days Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, even weeks are working days Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

Working hours on weekdays are 15:00-20:30 and on weekends approximately 10:00-18:00.

After the temporary position, there are great opportunities to retain the position as a part-time employee with the possibility of about 1-2 fixed shifts Monday-Sunday, as well as the opportunity to step in “extra” as needed and for longer periods during holidays and breaks.

Note: Generally regarding the mentioned times above, there is some flexibility regarding both times and days, so if the above schedule does not fit optimally for you but you believe you could be a good fit for the position as a temporary assistant and substitute as needed, please reach out!

Who are you applying?

We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic who is playful and creative but also attentive and able to see opportunities. It is also a great advantage if you have experience with children with disabilities.

Requirements for the position are that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

It is an advantage if you have a driver's license and access to a car.
