JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you want to make a difference as a support assistant for people living in BmSS, Housing with Special Services? We are now looking for two support assistants who want to provide support to individuals in their daily lives, both inside and outside the home.
Smörkärnegatan group home is an LSS residence for adult women and men with psychiatric disabilities and/or physical disabilities. The accommodation is divided into 6 apartments on one floor with a common area in the center of the floor. The staff group consists of 2 support pedagogues and 10 support assistants, of which 2 work nights.
Your placement will be at Smörkärnegatan floor 1, but you may need to step in and work at the nearby workplace on floor 2 with the same target group if necessary.
Some of us encounter obstacles when the world is not designed according to our way of functioning. As a support assistant, it is your role to support the tenants' participation and create opportunities to influence decisions and interventions. You provide support in daily life with everything from communication, stimulation of leisure activities, personal care, and household chores. Your role is to adapt your support and contribute to a good and independent life. You collaborate with other people around the tenant, such as guardians, social workers, relatives, and healthcare. The work includes social documentation and medication management according to delegation.
By establishing and following implementation plans, you ensure that the tenants' needs are in focus and that they have a safe home with the opportunity to live like everyone else. In your role, you are responsible for motivating the tenants to engage in various activities in their daily lives. This may involve stimulating contacts outside the residence and creating conditions for enriching leisure based on the user's interests. As a support assistant, you enable our tenants to develop and grow.
All social documentation is done in the documentation system Treserva. If you have not previously used the systems used within the City of Gothenburg, you will receive training in these.
Housing with special services offers support around the clock. We base our work on the tenants' needs and need to adjust working hours accordingly. Working hours are scheduled for daytime and evening shifts, as well as every other weekend. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with support assistant training, nursing assistant training with a focus on psychiatry, or a Care and Nursing program with a focus on disabilities or specialization in psychiatry, or other education that the employer finds equivalent.
You have previously worked with individuals who have psychiatric disabilities such as schizophrenia and psychotic disorders. If you also have knowledge or experience working with methods such as MI (motivational interviewing), ESL (an independent life), Low Arousal Approach, and AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), it is an advantage.
It is important that you are accommodating and have a positive attitude in your professional role. If you work in a structured manner, have good collaboration skills, and can take initiative within the framework of the assignment, this is highly valued. To communicate with tenants, colleagues, and to document, you need to have a good command of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.
