WE ARE PRIMARILY LOOKING FOR FOSTER PARENTS AROUND THE BORÅS, MARK, HERRLJUNGA, AND ULRICEHAMN AREAS.

Information about the assignment

As a foster home, you will take care of a child or young person in your home with support from social services and guidance from a foster care consultant. The children are aged 0-19 years. Your role is to be a safe, stable adult with the primary task of supporting and integrating the child into your family and society. It is important that the family has a stable economy and a separate room for the child/youth.

As a foster home, you take care of a child or youth in your home who needs extra support and care. The child/youth often comes from difficult circumstances. Personal suitability is of utmost value, and experience in similar assignments is advantageous but not a necessity.

We offer continuous guidance and support to families and are always available around the clock, with a personal foster care consultant assigned to the family.

The foster parents receive compensation for the assignment equivalent to an average part-time salary.

Investigation

To work as a foster home, you as a family will undergo an investigation by trained consultants. In-depth interviews, home visits, and background checks from criminal records, social registers, the Enforcement Authority, and the Transport Agency will be conducted.

After a successful investigation, a matching investigation will also be conducted to see if the placed child/teenager matches your family.

Our extensive investigation is done for both your sake and the sake of the placed child/youth.

Our task is to do everything we can to ensure that a child/youth gets a good foster home where they can feel safe, develop, and grow as a person. Unfortunately, research has shown that many placed children and youth have suffered in their foster homes over the years; we obviously want to avoid this and ensure that the individuals we place have a good experience in their foster homes.

An investigation is also important for you as a family; by getting to know you during the investigation process, we can make a good match with a child/youth that fits with you. We want to give you as a foster home good conditions for the assignment.

More about our company

YogaKloster is a retreat farm located in the countryside just outside Borås. We have a broad community engagement, and part of our work beyond the retreat farm is to investigate and guide adults who receive children and youth as foster homes. We call that part of our operation YK-foster homes.

YK-foster homes have been working for several years to guide and support families in a foster care assignment. Our mission is to seek, investigate, and then guide foster parents who take in children and youth in crisis.

The work in the foster homes is conducted as a social pedagogical effort in close collaboration between social services, the foster home, and YK-foster homes. The fundamental idea for the assignment with the placed child/youth is based on the premise that the individual develops in interaction with other people, environmental factors, and various professional roles. By creating a secure base with a well-assessed foster home in accordance with the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines, a pathway is offered for the youth towards increased ability for an independent life.

YK-foster homes focus on providing sustainable, safe, and stable foster homes that open their hearts and homes to children and youth in need.

YogaKloster AB has a license from IVO (the Health and Social Care Inspectorate) to conduct foster care activities.
