Stenungsund Municipality is an expanding coastal municipality with approximately 27,800 inhabitants, a strong business community, residential environments close to the sea, and good communication opportunities. The municipality is organized into an administration with four sectors. The Social Services Sector includes four operations: Special housing/municipal health and medical care, Individual and family care, Ordinary housing/personal assistance, and Disabilities.

In the area of disabilities, interventions are implemented according to LSS, the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons, and the Social Services Act (SoL) aimed at people with various disabilities. The interventions are designed to strengthen the individual's ability to actively participate in community life and live and reside under safe conditions, with respect for self-determination and integrity. Group homes/support housing, daily activities, short-term housing, and various relief forms are some of the support functions. All instances in the chain contribute to qualitative and secure support for people with disabilities.

Job Responsibilities

In social psychiatry, you meet people with mental disabilities and possible comorbidity who live in special housing according to SoL or LSS. We are now looking for 2 colleagues to join our wonderful TEAM!

The staff at the residence will support the users with their daily living through individualized everyday support. This involves varied tasks focusing on motivational work, support and assistance with physical and mental health issues, and assistance with practical matters such as hygiene, cleaning, cooking, and other household chores. There may be collaboration with various agencies, such as outpatient care or treatment units for substance abuse. Staff will also support users in their leisure and social lives. As staff, you work to promote users' participation, independence, abilities, and skills in all respects.

Providing support and service according to the user's individual needs and wishes according to implementation plans. You perform everyday, planned support interventions and activities together with the user. The support interventions should promote the user's integrity, participation, and are carried out with respect for the user's self-determination. The user's needs should be at the center, and the person's views should be actively taken into account. The user should receive support and the right to decide over their life and develop their abilities to live as independently as possible. The work is based on a pedagogical and motivating approach in close collaboration with the user's network and external actors. The work is governed by the assessed assistance assignment, which is goal-oriented. IT-based documentation is included in the job responsibilities.

Scheduled working hours, working 2 out of 4 weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a positive view of people and a good value base. You should have the ability to create good relationships and empathize with another person's situation, wishes, and needs to work from a user perspective and put the individual's needs at the center.

The work requires responsibility, attention to detail, flexibility, security, responsiveness, patience, service orientation, good collaboration skills, and a positive attitude. You should have completed the care program with a focus on support assistant or another education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

You should also have knowledge of low-arousal approaches, clarifying pedagogy, motivational work/approaches, and a good ability to translate theoretical knowledge into practical work with the individual user. You must master the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You can work both in a group and independently. It is advantageous if you:

  • have experience working with users with challenging behavior
  • have experience with AAC and clarifying pedagogy
  • have experience working with individuals with autism
  • have experience working with individuals with comorbidity and/or substance abuse issues
  • have experience working with individuals with acquired brain injuries
  • hold a B driver's license

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Before employment, an acceptable extract from the police criminal record must be presented.
