In the city center, there is Luleå Gymnasieby, a campus area that gathers most municipal upper secondary education programs with nearly 2300 students. The students in Luleå Gymnasieby should be given the conditions for lifelong learning by focusing on knowledge, participation, responsibility, and leadership so that they are prepared for working life and as citizens in general. The contacts with the business community are many, and in the local steering groups, the business community collaborates with the upper secondary school to create good conditions for students to be well prepared for the time after upper secondary education.

We are now looking for a teacher in wood and metal craft for our adapted upper secondary school.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will teach at the adapted upper secondary school located in the various quarters of Luleå Gymnasieby. The adapted upper secondary school is an education aimed at students with intellectual disabilities. The education spans four years and is a voluntary school form.

Luleå Municipality's adapted upper secondary school offers four programs: Individual Program, Business and Service Program, Hotel, Restaurant and Bakery Program, and Property and Construction Program. You will primarily teach in the Property and Construction Program. Your responsibilities include mentorship and oversight of students' workplace-based learning (APL).

You will be part of a work team where you collaborate with other staff and professionals both within and outside the school. Your role includes planning and conducting teaching according to current governing documents and the students' developmental needs. With varied teaching based on a clear structure, you create the best conditions for our students to meet the knowledge requirements. Together with colleagues, you actively work with the organization's mission and the joint development of the programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a qualified teacher for teaching wood and metal craft.

You have a good ability to communicate and can motivate and create participation. You are a responsible and secure person who is happy to share your knowledge and experiences. You can lead and organize your work to create the best possible conditions for the student. We work in teams, which requires good collaboration skills. You are flexible in your approach to new situations and have a good ability to read situations.

You should have good knowledge of students with intellectual disabilities and neuropsychiatric disabilities. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.

If you are shortlisted for the position, you will need to present a valid extract from the criminal record.

Start date: 2025-08-13 or by agreement.
